There could be many reasons why he's released a statement. Suggesting he's concerned is way off the mark and just scaremongering
What he should do, as a journalist, is run a check on the supposed buyers. Others have, and they are not remotely credible.

It's been confirmed by CM (Athletic) two bids have been accepted. Both I understand with the EFL. One group gone public the other hasn't.
One group has a owner who been bankrupt and has a very unsuccessful in business Also, not able to provide proof of funds. (My understanding)
