The new pitch system makes me wonder if they have an eye on internationals, gigs, etc.

We now have a good stadium with a hotel next door ...

... once the monorail goes in there'll be no stopping us <party>

You forgot about the temporary helipad and aircraft landing strip that will be pulled out across the Wear on match days. Apparently being stored in the old Monkwearmouth mine workings :-)

Spurs pitch is brilliant. Came across this the other day on YouTube.

That is brilliant, well done for finding it, pity the whole concept won't be practical in our stadium, at least I wouldn't have thought so anyway.
Imagine the entertainment possibilities if we could though. There's some clever people out there that's for sure.

Looks like hes going to give the squad the tools to be the best they can be, we may struggle to spend on players if we end up being down here next season and there are spending caps of some kind but they wont be able to blame the infrastructure for failings on the playing side of things. This is going to be one slick outfit of an unprecedented nature in league one (and probably the Championship if we drag ourselves up this season).

<laugh>

There were questions asked by the FPP advisers about the river, nothing serious, just looking at every aspect of the club.

I'd love to see a booze cruise boat setting off from Hartlepool, picking up along the coast and pulling up at Sheepfolds <laugh>

Or from the Shipwright pub near the A19, I'd park there just for the crack.

Agree 100%.... I just hope that somehow we manage to get out of this godforsaken league this season as KLD's ambition is there for all to see. As a professionally run club we seem to be miles ahead of clubs in League 1, I feel we would be in the Championship, just need players if and when we get there.

It's things like this that will attract the attention of ambitious players, coaches, etc ...

... that will give us the edge in attracting people without having to pay higher wages imo.

Absolutely.

Lyle Taylor was obviously a while back, but we'd have been promoted if he'd signed. He didn't sign because Charlton wanted him more. If that was now and he'd seen what KLD was doing he'd have been here in a flash.

Money attracts mercenaries, obviously.

The NE has always had to pay more because of where it is, it eventually leads to problems despite some initial successes.

Much better to attract people with desire and a wish to be part of something exciting.

You can see its his plan to get us up at the first opportunity, his hands are tied to a large extent though so hes using what he can control to maximise our potential for promotion this season. Its early days yet I still feel much more confident that this guy is the real deal, much more so than when Donald came in. Long may it continue as if the first week is anything to go by this may be the real magic carpet ride we have all been waiting for for over a decade.

Absolutely. We want ambitious, hungry players who see us as the best place to ply their trade and even if we are only initially a big stage from which they can catch the eye of the top 6 clubs it means we can hopefully get some real talent on board, give them game time and reap the rewards before parting ways. Once young gifted players see signs of this they will be queuing to sign on at the academy. Then, hopefully it will start to pay for itself and provide the players we need in the future.

I reckon if he is spending £500,000 it will be lighting only.

Sorry chaps, I would not have posted a seperate link if I had seen this 1. Just I got excited as it is a million miles from what we have become used to.

lf he wants to get ideas from Tottenham's stadium, now all we need is him to put a micro brewery into the Stadium of Light.

Would be great PR for the club and for the city / local economy if he bought one of the buildings around the stadium and produced a micro brewery which could sell beer in the ground and also local pubs etc / with a shop / fan park.

Would bring an entire new meaning to [HASHTAG]#cans[/HASHTAG]

That would be great, to me the best site for a microbrewery would be the old car dealership. Could function as a matchday pub, plus it would be a nice gesture if we did that and supplied the fans museum as well. More money to the club coffers and helps a local charitable organisation.

Not just the players.
Really interested to see who we bring in as sponsors etc.
Think you nailed it earlier saying along the lines that Billionaires especially the likes of KLD's family company
attract other money people like moths round a flame.
I think Sunderlands profile is about to take off.

Cant even remember what i was looking for - i think it was one of this youtube sessions when you are looking for something and click one of the items on the right and before you know it you've been wasting 4 hours looking at random youtube vids.

But yeah it was a good watch and the tech involved in the stadium is very good. Hopefully KLD is looking for ways to adapt our stadium to make it the best it can be.

In terms of stature (and now in monetary terms) we should be able to beat a number of Championship clubs to signings if we show the right intent (and assuming no daft salary caps)
