Do you know if Dave Jones is staying on in come capacity?

I'd be surprised if he doesn't. He's clearly switched on, and most big companies have non executive directors who help with advising on business direction etc. I'd be amazed if he left, especially with him being a fan who doesn't need the role for his career, I think KLD will probably see him as a decent sounding board tbh but who knows!

There's no rabble rousing is there, it's all about foundations, long term strategy, planning, etc ...

... I keep having to Ggogle words to find out what they mean <laugh>
Just the way it should be mate. We are way down the leagues and making wild promises isnt going to cut it. They have a clear long term plan based on elements that have been shown to be hugely successful elsewhere. There is a lot to turn around but they are going about in a methodical way that is aimed at an end point a few years from now, not next month.

If LJ gets the current squad on a roll, maybe we can get a headstart this season and pinch promotion. Wouldnt surprise me if he does, but if he doesnt I am still buying into the long termism.

I have mentioned his statement on here and the problem in my opinion has nothing to do with him being cautious who can blame anyone for that? It's that he is no doubt getting paid to give his opinion on the takeover but seems like he can't be arsed to do 30 minutes or so research into the new owner.

Well that’s for sky to have a problem with him, it’s them he’s letting down if he doesn’t do his research. It won’t change KLDs plans for the club.

Phillips is a legend at the club, some unresearched comments shouldn’t effect that.

I’d personally like him to stay on. Agree with this

I've always suspected he didn't have genuine feelings for the club but shrugged it off because he was such a legend. But that interview was dreadful from the start. There was zero enthusiasm and it looked like he was just sour not to be part of it all.

His best chance of a career in coaching, or whatever, was with us but I think he's blown that now. KLD would've seen his age referred to, his need to take advice from Donald and the suggestion that he was simply being brought in to provide investment.

I pictured him carefully putting on his reading glasses, reaching for his 'list of possible employees', putting a ruler on Phillips name and scratching a line through it, then another to emphasise it.

Time for me to put him into the same file as Marco and Mon.

I was asked to repossess a very expensive Buick Supercharger from Antwerp. I took two of my teenage sons from Nice, flew them to Brussels, left them for the day and went off to repo the car. I got it and we zigzagged across Europe in a mad car with the best music system I've ever seen.

I knew I'd blow my fee but it was all a mad adventure, then we arrived in Geneva, to stay the night, and had a lovely evening at a restaurant on the lake ...

... budget blown to smithereens <laugh>

...
Was there any smoke on the water?

I think he’s being cautious because he cares, not because he’s trying to disrupt or offend people at the club.

Why have you always suspected his feelings for the club wernt genuine?

Just shows how people can read things differently mate.

As for his general feelings about the club, I just never warmed to him when he's talked about the club since he left. He's always there, if someone wants a quote, but I doubt we'll ever see him just show up at a match.
