Loved Osnabruck. Robert's barracks with the Engineers and the RA. Some fun times in the Naafi was had<ale>

I was based in Quebec Bks 71 - 74. 12 Mech Bde HQ & Sig Sqn
Fortunately part of my duties was to go to the telephone exchange at Roberts Bks.
A certain couple of ladies kept me warm

I eventually got a army hiring at a place called HASBERGEN. just past Hellern bowling alley.
I could have chosen Belm or Little London but better footy at Hasbergen and amongst germans. Great life

When I first got posted to Germany, was introduced to the badge, he said he had the perfect job for me seeing as I had just arrived. It was attending the funeral of an ex sapper who had married a German, I had to pretend I knew him, even though he was forty years older than me, it was a five hour drive right down south, ten of us in a mini bus wearing twos, not one person knew the old feller. Still, was a decent piss up and my first introduction to herfies.
Did 11 years but never did a Germany posting. The term you used ‘the badge’ that brings back memories of a brilliant WO2 I served with at AMF(L) in Bulford mid to late 1980s. Never anyone like him.
