there every chance that only that player has been told as a player representative so that he can answer any questions the others have when it’s announced

True, I got my fingers burned with that! But made it back with getting on LJ @ 5/4 the day before it was announced! Hopefully all sorted today if not it’s only days away as certain players are aware!

I put £30 on Poyet at 5/1 when I heard it. Wasn’t best pleased when it broke down and had to log off the forums a bit before I needlessly got angry.

Some of the barrels were initially switched by the locals, for inferior rum, hence the tradition of branding the destination of the barrels with hot irons.

I’d love to think all the players had been told but the fact it hasn’t then immediately leaked to the press last night makes me think that if some have been told, it’s possibly only a select few.

I’m hoping the truth is somewhere in the middle - perhaps a few have been informed but not all.

I seen that someone said that all the staff and players have been told yesterday, however is the Academy not shut at the moment due to Covid. Therefore were they emailed, or zoom meeting perhaps, not doubting that it's going to happen today just can't see a meeting being called in these times with all the restrictions in place.

this why I think there’s every chance that just one or two have been told so that they can answer questions the others have.

much easier for the club to call one or two of the trusted players and staff and brief them and ask them to keep schtum until it’s announced, than to arrange a zoom call for 30-50 people and expect them all to keep quiet about it. I’d go as far as saying the latter definitely hasn’t happened - no way that happens without somebody leaking to the press.

I’m viewing this forum on my phone. Currently up to page 1643. I reckon by the time it’s announced it will be on page 1973. Whimsical thinking but still...

Just to put a downer on it. If a certain senior player does know a certain poster and gives out certain snippets of information then the said senior player can’t be that trustworthy can he?

indeed. It’s this exact reason why I’m sceptical about the whole squad knowing. There seems to be quite a few people across both boards who’ve heard it. If it were true, and it’s leaked to this many people on both boards, then there’s surely no chance it hasn’t made it as far as the press.

I really hope it’s announced today 11am hopefully..because this has been a long drawn out process which has been draining,lots of highs with excitement and expectation then a few deflating lows it would be fantastic to have all this done just before Christmas a great present for us all..I don’t post a great deal but love reading this thread and and thankful for the ITKs who have kept me sane through this.. Who says the snippets he gets aren't going to made public anyway but he he gets the info maybe earlier than it would be in the public domain, its hardly on the level of a CID snitch

Anything could be made public at any time. The club can also put an embargo on the timing of the release by the press. All I’m saying is that we shouldn’t be swayed by a bit of information that we want to be true. And snitches aren’t the sole domain of CID you know That said when I applied I had to show evidence that I had an ‘informant’.
