I was taken in. I admit it. I was so desperate for us to come back with vengeance, I hung on the words that fell out his mouth because I genuinely believe we are, or rather, could be up there with the best team to play for in the world. Like Donald said “because it’s Sunderland”.

For me the turning point was when I realised he hadn’t “ring-fenced” the parachute payments and wasn’t going to “drip-feed” much back to the club.
He used the clubs money to buy the club.
He stole Sunderland’s money.

I liked Donald and Methven and thought we were in for a good time when they brought Sartori on board, before that I wasn't under any illusions about what Donald could do financially because he always seemed skint to me.
I don't feel like an idiot for thinking we were in good hands, he appointed Ross who is a decent manager I believe and we were a hairs breadth from being promoted under him. I don't see Donald as some evil cackling fiend he's just a gambler who narrowly lost out and now seems to be handing the club over without much fuss.
Maybe FPP weren't right anyway. I'm not sure how much they wanted the club.

Do you think that’s why they played the game against Wimbledon..fear of sanctions against the club with the takeover close sanctions the new ownership wouldn’t want to deal with or pay for??

Didn't get clarity. The elf statement even said as much. I mean we fielded a team to play the fixture so would we have been sanctioned cause we have a big enough squad to cope with those losses.
The next 3 are only really postponed as we have had a full shut down.
That's an incredibly strange view that is all too common.
By the very definition of vocabulary, by opening swear words into your own vocabulary you have more words in your arsenal than those who do not.

In the 1600s and beyond have swore with reckless abandon.
Swearing doesn't highlight a lack of intelligence or a poor grasp of the English language. It's just ****ing swearing.
I'll go along with Billy Connolly's explanation - "I've sworn all my life. I'd swear all the time and I think it's rather good language. I don't get it. If it was all agreed then why is there the newer deal?
You'd have thought that they'd have had that lift repaired before January, what with so many players and staff having just come back from having Covid-19 and being a bit short of breath like!
No it doesn't, I served with some super intelligent people, all fully literate. Each and everyone swore like a trooper ( pardon the pun ) the fact of the matter is, is that some people are intolerant to it, most aren't.

Me as well. That said, when I’m using public transport the liberal use of “****” makes me cringe. I’ve challenged enough people about it as well. There is still a time and a place. Not “So I ****ing went to the ****ing shop and the assistant behind the ****ing counter....”

This is what I mean though. Swearing just because you can shouldn’t be acceptable. Go back to my example of public transport. Not everyone wants to hear it and in most cases it adds nothing to what you’re saying.Some right ****ing fannies on here. "The nasty man used a swear word"
Swearing is fantastic if it really increases the impact of what you're saying ...
... randomly splattering your everyday language with swear words is just slack.
