"The appointment of Lee [Johnson] was made by the board of Sunderland, and the decision to bring in Kristjaan [Speakman] was made by the board of Sunderland.

"Those are the facts."
It’s interesting the echo ran the same quotes but also said it was their understanding the new investor was kept up to speed and ultimately had an involvement, given KLD was liking Johnsons appointment on instagram he obviously didnt have an issue with it. @Magnus was probably right it has to be seen to be done by the old board or they risk another situation like they had with Coleman

Very early days but it reminds of when Stokoe took over from Alan Brown. He straight away took the shackles off the players, the rest is history.
We can but dream.
Totally agree. Exactly the same thought occurred to me after watching that performance yesterday.

I'm reading all today's news that the takeover has been delayed due to loans to FPP and kld wanting more % etc and seeing some people having a bit doubt still.
Rodwell has said the paperwork is with the efl and I'm taking that as the press are normally slow with the news and all that has been ironed out and now awaiting credit checks and police checks haha to be done on the new owners and shouldn't hopefully take much longer tbf, not long now till Jan window and they'll want that done by then

People can believe me or not but if it come from the new guy Parkinson could take the club to court, like Colman did, for once the club is saying the right things
On what basis they could sue the club? The signatures are of the current owners and they can take advise from anyone for a decision, including Dreyfus or Sartori.

I don’t think it’s necessarily Parkinson who’d be the problem but the EFL. The fit and proper test is there for a reason, as ridiculous as the implementation of it is. If our new owner is making decisions before he’s approved to, it shows we have zero respect for their rules.
