Pleased to hear a sunderland manager sounding like he wants to be positive and get stuck into teams.

Looking forward to the match now - Brave sticking mcgeady back in mind bearing how much football he has missed.

Right its the start of a new era.
Can everybody stop being negative now and get behind our new manager and Project!

I hope people get behind this properly. I wanted someone to make people sit up and take notice and i don’t think this will. However, for once in a long time it looks like someone connected to our ownership has a considered plan for the future of our club. Let’s hope the structure can allow LJ to improve with us and for now, the whole thing has my support and importantly, my patience.

Happy with todays front 3. Bloody hell Grigg might even score with Geads & Maguire feeding him with decent passes along the ground.

I'm genuinely looking forward to this. Thought I'd skip it and made plans to go out, but seeing Johnson has taken charge and the lineup we're starting with, everything's been cancelled. Reckon Grigg will be very good with Maguire and McGeady either side of him. I know he gets stick for his misses, but I genuinely think he works hard to get on the ball, unlike the likes of Wyke and Graham.

Wonder what they mean by that snake comment. That's not exactly ideal.

Interesting to see how divided opinion is on him.

I don't know what to think at all.

he gets a clean slate from me and i would think from most of the fans...we have had 'great managers' here who we have all adored, until the happy times subside then they are all snakes in the grass, all did 'something' wrong, were never liked etc etc.

he may well be what the club and team needs at this time, he can say wtf he likes in his first interview as, let's face it, they all come out with the same scripted ****e (while none are lies)..big club/passionate fans/love their footballl up here/ insert soundbite of choice here etc etc...he HAS to do his talking with his results, prepared to give him a couple of games to see exactly what he has to choose from regarding his style and certainly wont be calling for his head if the first couple of games dont go well, nor will i be shouting his name from the rooftops if all goes well.

Good luck to him. I wouldn’t have picked him but good on him and like the way he wants to play. Also fair play for taking charge today. Clever thinking trying to get off to a win to start and a nice match to choose.

I'm completely open to him, im quite removed from the game and if I'm honest I'd barely heard his name before all this if at all. So I'm definitely not judging either way.

Just curious by the word "snake" as it is so loaded and there must surely be something behind it, rightly or wrongly.
