I'd have Ellis back so long as he brought in proper football people with him. He tried with the likes of Congerton, who had a good reputation at the time, he appointed some good managers who were also well thought of at the time. Unfortunately as we know it just didn't work out and when we maybe did get the manager that was finally right, England came calling.
He got plenty wrong too with the likes of Byrne, De Fanti, Di Canio etc and then became an absent owner but overall his heart was in the right place imo so I'd have him back.
If he appointed the likes of Marwood to run the football operations I’d love it. Won’t happen like.

Just a hypothetical question.

How would people feel if Ellis came back as one of the backers?

If he intended to return surely it would be for the right reasons. Couldn't see someone coming back for the wrong reasons. It would take a long time to get back any new investment not including what has already been lost the last time he was here.

Had it pointed/highlighted to me..Local and Regional media quiet as been tipped off announcement is expected in coming weeks..

Also, outstanding positions at SAFC to be filled quickly following announcement..within days/weeks..sounds to me people lined up to come in...

I know you have stated its not GF alone but do you think it could be GF but with the other FPP lads aswell?

Regarding Short, I think he seems a decent bloke and at least he had a go at it, so I definitely don't have any ill will where he's concerned.

That being said I wouldn't want him anywhere near us . Ultimately he brought us to the brink of bankruptcy. Fair enough, he did the right thing in the end with writing debts off, but I wouldn't want to risk him coming back and just hoping that he's learned how to run a football club. All of his club staff appointments were dreadful and all contributed to where we ended up. He wouldn't suddenly be hands on, and I doubt he'd suddenly break the habit of a lifetime and get an appointment right. Hell even his last big decision, which safe pair of hands to place the club into, ended up with these jokers running us.

Apparently he still follows our results, will always like the club, but has no intention of ever being involved again, which is absolutely the right decision imo. He can't afford another massive loss and it would finish us as a club if it happened.

I really wish I had that info..I think its Satori..I don't know who with or how it plays out with FPP..however looking forward to see the share makeup...I really want to hear from the club who will be making the final decisions regarding signing the checks and our footballing strategy going forward..

You reckon any truth in this Marwood rumour?

I've been told there's no truth to that rumour at all...

Sounds like it's setting up to be something completely left field from what's being said on here. If someone has actually said no to it being Fuhrman, I would take it to mean it isn't him or FPP (other than the involvement they need due to the loan). I just imagine they'd say "he might be part of it", or "not him on his own" or something, rather than outright saying he's not involved.

Just an impression I get is that there's always been FPP interested and Sartori trying to get a backer to take as much of the club on as he can. Donald has probably pissed FPP off, and sartori has probably found someone wealthy to partner with him, hence this being someone new with money behind them who isn't FPP. Might be completely wrong mind, that's just reading between the lines of what others have said!
