I must admit i find it hard to believe that Barnes would get the two confused. Platek's name had hardly been mentioned around these parts at the time the statement was put out whereas Fuhrmans was pretty high profile.
No idea at all mate. All I heard is that he was/ is very keen for Donald to go and that the, once strong, relationship between them has got an awful lot weaker in recent times. Whether he wanted a sale because he might be due money from it and wanted his cash, or whether its because he thought Donald wasn't running it well/ it was a risk with him there and he wanted others running it so he could make more down the line if he could stay involved I'm not sure.
Fair points mate. Wish they would announce something then we can all stop checking these threads every hour to see if anyone has any updates .
I just hope this final agreement has enough about it to be a 'forever home' Alot of clubs at rock bottom change hands over and over with inappropriate owners until someone finally cracks it and gets it on the up, or sometimes the opposite like Bury where one opportunist too many finally breaks it. We've gone from Ellis Short desperate to get rid to Madrox and a few year later changing again. We won't start moving upwards until we get the right forever home owners. (Not literally mind, I don't expect them to actually die in possession of the club!) We will have to wait and see of course but if rumours are to be believed it looks like a hotch potch of ownership that usually ends in behind the scenes disagreements and potential mixed messages on direction to staff. You have to have one leader or its buggered from the start. I'll be looking to see who exactly is driving the bus when it's finally announced.
This is the issue though. Him wanting his profit prevents a proper takeover. This is why the **** he gets is justified. Pure avarice at a cost to our progress.
I wonder if the waters are being muddied (is that a word) deliberately? Like you say there needs to be a point of control. Hopefully we get the owner(s) we want and need.
When you see what aggro any 'info posters' receive I can't blame you mate, I appreciate you pm'ing me. All I've said, this time, is that FPP want a resolution to the current void, their solicitors have been active and Sartori has been involved. Yet some people have accused me of claiming all kinds of things, giving deadlines, etc. There's some very sad people on the internet mate, glad I'm not them.
In this hypothetical question, does he have anything to do with hiring? Cause his biggest failure was being a hands off owner who put people in positions they were I'll suited for. If you are hands off your hires need to be very good.
Good question. Must admit I have thought about that. I genuinely think quinny sold us to him but he failed. With the right people I dont think I would object but are we going backwards then? I think this is one of them questions that could split the fanbase.
It's not misinformation for any specific purpose mate, to be blunt. Donald, Methven and other people at the club spout things off the top of their heads because they're frustrated at the mess they've made and the corner they've backed themselves into. If it was a ever plan I'd have a grain of respect for them.
When this all started he was ready to go and making all kinds of plans ... ... people can think wtf they like, I saw WhatsApp messages from him. It wasn't until Donald asked at the last minute for £5m and £10 'bonus' for subsequent promotions that things started to unravel. If he wants to sue me for saying that I'm happy to give my details. It's time people knew the truth but going to court would mean him and Methven having to tell the truth ... ... which would scare them off based on their performance so far.
Thought his intentions were good, the cash was invested by Ellis, but his decisions regarding di fanti,Margaret Byrne were terrible along with other poor decisions but I would have him back as long as he's learnt from the past
I'd have Ellis back so long as he brought in proper football people with him. He tried with the likes of Congerton, who had a good reputation at the time, he appointed some good managers who were also well thought of at the time. Unfortunately as we know it just didn't work out and when we maybe did get the manager that was finally right, England came calling. He got plenty wrong too with the likes of Byrne, De Fanti, Di Canio etc and then became an absent owner but overall his heart was in the right place imo so I'd have him back.
