Barnes has backtracked? I missed that, got a link to that please.

As for anonymous posters, well two of them are known and have been for a good few year by other Sunderland fans, both on and off the board. Additionally those same two have a long history of posting on PF so they are a bit more than anonymous tbf. Obviously you wouldn't be aware of that though seeing as you don't go on PF. Can't speak for the other poster as I know nowt about whoever that may be.

In fairness I get it. It’s not up to you to prove that a takeover isn’t happening, rather it’s up to the others who are making these claims to prove that it is. Now, ‘the others’ have all posted information that suggests that it is. Also, being a cop, I know that the last thing anyone should do is betray their source, so based on all the evidence that I’ve read I’d say the intel that we’re being fed is consistent and most likely meaning that at the very least negotiations for the club are happening.

Thanks for posting, and as others have said you're posting in good faith and aren't pretending to be more informed than you are (unlike Mad Bob). The fact that it's so quiet and so little getting out means people are going to interpret things differently depending on what they hear. Though to throw a bit of my own speculation out there, as we don't really know what Sartoris involvement with us has been, is it possible that he was the one who originally introduced FPP to Sunderland, which is why they're prepared to work with him now?

Don't think so mate....from what I can remember about this from info posted on here and elsewhere,there was speculation that FPP were introduced to Donald by either Methven , or by a local business man and MLF called Nathan O'Brien,who may,apparently,have come across them in the USA. Sartori was introduced to us by Donald himself iirc,as they were friends and business acquaintances.
However, I'm happy to be corrected if this is not the case.

So why do you bother continually saying the same thing, why not just wait for confirmation from the club ...

... it's as if you're desperate for there to be no takeover.

You're coming onto a chat forum and complaining about the chat, then you wonder why people find you irritating. It's not because you share a similar view to loads of other people who don't get any flak at all. Personally I don't care if an anonymous poster believes a word I say.

Cheers mate, like I said speculation on my part as Sartori and his involvement with us is an enigma. He hasn't had a lot of involvement for a while, and there've been rumours for a while that he fell out with Donald, Methven or both. I guess it'll all come out in the end.
 
This and the SMB equivalent thread just go round in circles day after day.

It's terribly unsporting of the club to not leak a few snippets each week to give the piranhas something to go at.

Again, it's just a different opinion.

Just because I don't think anything is happening, it doesn't mean I don't want a takeover to happen.

Your opinion is there's something going on, mine is there isn't.

Doesn't change what we want for the club though.
