Exactly Smug. I think we all want it over and done with now so we can move on.
Looking back on it all, for me, if SD had said from the beginning that to get the club back to the EPL it may mean two or three seasons in League 1 to consolidate and to give us the best opportunity to sort out the finances then I would’ve accepted that.

No I’ve been told it’s into the EFL a little over a week ago now, I then got told off someone else that any meeting now will be taking place at the EFL( don’t know if that bit is true or not),

Not sure I would, it would just have confirmed his status earlier. The way things actually turned out it took me a couple of weeks to realise the bloke was out of his depth and not good for the club.

Of course. In hindsight he has been an unmitigated disaster for SAFC. I can’t think for one minute what made him think that after failing at Eastleigh he could succeed at Sunderland where the expectations were considerably higher.
I’ve said it before that I was taken in by him. I like to think I’m a shrewd judge of character but not in his case I wasn’t.
I just hope that when he has finally walked out of the front door of the SOL for the last time, the powers that be in the football world stamp his file with ‘DO NOT ALLOW THIS MAN TO OWN A FOOTBALL CLUB EVER AGAIN’

Well he's not said anything wrong so far. At least he's passionate about what he wants to do and where he wants us to be.

I supported Donald in the beginning but I quickly began to think something wasn't right.

Amazon or a similar organisation are now going forward to be a way of life. More will be bought off the Internet. Personally I do not use Amazon that much but yes to John Lewis and 2 or 3 mens clothing firms.

Despite international political problems, Amazon, Hotmail, Apple etc all need to pay more tax.. atm there us far too much tax avoidance/evasion

This is off topic I know,but it's up to the authorities to pool together to make it impossible for these companies to exploit the various tax loopholes. If we want them to pay what we may consider their due amounts,it's up to our legislature to make it impossible for them to do anything else. It's my view that the taxation regime has become far too complicated,no ordinary person can understand it and it has far too many needless strands to it,into which clever people can weave gaps.

Spot on mate. It's the various countries,no more so than ours here in the UK, level of stupidity which allows people who can afford to pay very clever other people to find the gaps.

Tax evasion is illegal and you can be sent jail for it. Tax avoidance is "smart" as Trump told us, and is perfectly legal. It matters not that it is essentially the same thing as that famous Australian/British/American Rupert Murdoch explained to us tax is "only for the little people" like you and me, not for the elite who are above such things and are exempt. One rule for us, another for them you see. Aren't you a policeman by the way and therefore your pay is entirely funded by taxpayers?

What is stopping taxing these companies is as you say, Politicians, in the USA, EU etc.

Imho some form of turnover tax is the way to go... as they use transfer pricing to move profits around countries.

For instance Ireland has a very low corp tax rate to entice companies eg Apple? To be in their country.

Just out of interest how confident are you of ya source? And is the same person who has told you its at the EFL the same as who gave you the percentage breakdown of the deal?

Agree with that. I don't like amazon but I buy through them because they're convenient, easy and generally quite cheap. I wish they paid more tax, but surely we could put some sort of law in place that says if you want to sell to British addresses, you have to pay x% of tax on each sale. There must be ways of tracking that and putting it in place. It might mean their prices rise a bit, then I'd decide whether to still use them or go elsewhere. Mental how they can tax the **** out of us every step of our lives but can't close some loopholes which is losing them billions

I think it's more won't than can't imho.

I don't believe the system will ever change in that regard while the folks in charge of changing the necessary legislation have too much to benefit financially by not changing it.
