Thanks, hitting me hard tonight, grief is an uncontrollable emotion
know how you feel was gutted when me mam died, took ages to get over it, she was very big in the church and led the choir like a whoopie Goldberg in sister act some cracking tunes congregation was always packed did a lot for the pensioners at harvest festival the archdeacon said i could put her cremated remains outside the church door, i followed the instructions to the letter with my brother even got compassionate leave from the paras to come home for it ,I started digging the vicar came up and pulled the spade from my hand, i told him we had permission and to contact the deacon , he ignored me , i told him now is not the time to do this go away had my spade behind his back wouldn't give it back, i snapped and cracked him one punch, he went out like a light broken nose and lost 3 teeth, he phoned the cops and i was charged. On the day of the trial i walked in and the judge was my old colonel, told him what happen , vicar confirmed it as did the archdeacon, i was let off and the church to pay costs, never been in a church since bunch of hypocrites when that vicar came to the church he had nowt after 5 years with my mam there he was running round in a new volvo. He got sent overseas somewhere.

Whereabouts in Belmont? I went to Belmont Comp.

there’s a pub just round the corner called the travelers rest that I always head to for a pint when I’m up visiting my granda (unfortunately passed last year).

I don’t know the name of my mums school but I remember her pointing it out to me and it was next to a triangular road junction with a big church in the middle

Sorry to hear about your experience with your late mother, bless her soul and God bless you

The Travs was my local for want of a better word although I haven’t been in there since around 1990. Sounds like you were describing my old school if there was a small row of shops nearby. When did your mam leave school? There’s a slight possibility we know each other.

Can't be true.

We're having chilli con carne for dinner and huevos rancheros for breakfast tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, what do Somali's eat?
Canjeero is the one I know they have on a morning. Used to go to an East African cafe in Moss Side and have that with some kind of chick pea dish I’m not sure the name of. I’ll have a look.

When I was at Rock City I had a mate who was one of the top Hells Angels, deaths head tattoo on his tongue and a fierce looking fella.

I asked why he was looking down and he said his mam had died.

I just mumbled some condolences and carried on talking about motorbikes or something.

It wasn't until my Mam dies that I realised how crass I'd been <doh>

She was born June ‘61. I’d tell you her maiden name but then you’d be able to get access to all my accounts :D

Anyone hears we’re getting taken over by Somali Pirates ?
Fcuking hope not, a former colleague of mine had an apartment above a large group of Somalis in Birmingham. He had to move out, every morning at the crack of dawn, he was awoken by the pungent aroma of about sixty bulbs of garlic roasting. Fcuking stank to be fair.
