I don't think the club losing money affects SD in the slightest, the only way it'll hurt his own pocket is if he subsidises losses, but there's no onus on him to actually do that. The club has its own income and expenditure, with the assets and loans all secured against one another. If it ever came to the club going bust, it wouldn't hurt him whatsoever (other than obviously losing whatever money he paid for the club and denting his pride). I don't buy that financially he's struggling - he's selling because he wanted to flip the club for a profit and has realised he can't get the club back to the Championship to do that. His balancing act is working out how long the club can stay afloat without denting his asking price. The sale of academy players, redundancies and long term furlough is all done with the intention of maximising the budget and keeping the club running with that in mind.

I think it does like. Where else, apart from the owner/shareholders can the club get funds from? A loan? Already got a £10 mil one secured against the assets. Overdraft? Can't see that stretching to much. As for going bust, not happening. Don would lose all the money he's put in and his business reputation would take a massive hit as being the person who bought Sunderland at their lowest ebb and managed to take us even lower. Selling at a loss may be a bit of a cash and ego hit that he doesn't want to take but I think the alternatives are worse.

It seems far fetched to think that Donald would give a **** about what is said on forums and get the heavies in to sort it out but maybe it's just me.

Doesn't seem like it could have any possible effect on a takeover and he already knows we want him gone.

I don't think he would bother, but he has reported fans to police for calling him a **** on twitter, so who knows

I was threatened with legal action for things I posted on here.

I was also told junior reporters are encouraged to set up accounts so they can pick up quotes to use or, if all fails, quote themselves ...

... "Sunderland supporters outraged at Parkinson defending Wyke, read these comments."

That kind of thing.

The athletic doing a report that it’s between FPP and story
just logged on to see what the update is read the last 5 pages and my conclusion is i can't be arsed with this bollocks anymore he said she said smoke and mirrors , one step forward two back it has became tedious as anything , my only hope now is the team and that's saying somthing

Was the legal action a genuine legal thing or was it just some nutcase trying to shut you down?

I can imagine the club keeping an eye on fan opinion because why wouldn't they I'm just struggling to imagine Donald personally stepping in to censor forums, he seems too sane for that.

This is where RTG becomes an absolute joke, they take a jibe as libelous against the forum, that idiot pancho has not one clue about freedom of speech.

youn can say what the **** you like unless You are accusing somebody of committing a crime

I don't use Twitter so I'm not savvy to how it works but I think there's a difference between Donald reacting to direct personal attacks on there and him trawling the internet to find negative posts about him on forums.

I hope he isn't doing that or he won't have any time spare to half arsedly run the club.

When Ellis Short finally sold up I was relieved and would’ve taken anyone over Short. How wrong and misguided I was, I’d take Ellis Short over this arsehole.

It was crazy bad luck to have such a rich and willing owner only to be screwed by consistently terrible hiring over a long period of time. If Short had been slightly luckier and had hired better people in key roles once in a while he might still be the owner. He had an absolute shocker in terms of recruitment.

And had he got lucky with hiring the right people god knows where we’d be now mate .
Doesn’t bare thinking about.

We'd still be in the prem I imagine but he really didn't have a clue did he. If only it'd occurred to him to get someone like our own Dave Jones onboard to give him advice, might have saved him a few million.

We'll be back there soon enough mate.

Yeah we will do I’ve got faith.
And the man Dave Jones is doing a great job and long may it continue.
Hopefully it’s done soon tho because today’s performance scared me.
