I don't actually think Methven and Donald had anything to do with the news coming out. I think this lot genuinely want to buy us and think they can. And Donald and Methven don't care who they sell to, so they've entertained it.

Seems pretty legit Tom White has been the vehicle for them, rather than through Methven for example.

Devil's advocate. I think I've made it clear I don't want this, so bear with me.

If they turn out to have serious investors behind them to help fund the purchase, and are then going to try something new that in no way puts the club in jeopardy and only has an upside (for example it can't cost the club money, only generate funds)... would people then feel differently about this?

Lets say for example they were able to commit to the funding principles through their backers, and that the tokens they sell were just generating EXTRA cash, not funding the club.

I'd much rather have one ****ing owner but I think a lot of my concern is the unknown here. And being a guinea pig.

I still think the above isn't even close to likely.

Just listened to the podcast - Tom White reckons TFT is going to engage with the fans in the next few days and try to win us over
I listened to it this afternoon and went from completely dismissing TFT's bid to being a little concerned. Tom White seemed to give the impression that it is well down the line and a viable bid, I really hope I have picked it up wrong

FTF tokens, WTF are they talking about? ... "at Fantasy Turf. Don’t get bored at home and join us to get the best experience of playing fantasy sports".
My bold, the quote is from Fantasy Turf inf.

Should have said this relates to the Roker Report on Twitter, getting things a little mixed up.

That Roker Report article covers a few key things.

  • The funding to buy the club will come from an outside investor
  • There won't be any further funding from them into the club unless fans or others buy their tokens
  • The risk is that nobody buys and so they can provide no capital (not sure how this works on shareholder agreement)
  • The potential upside is thousands, even millions of people from around the world buy in and that money goes into the club.
  • The tokens don't give you any sort of ownership, just some say in club matters. However what those matters are is confusing as best, as KLD would be able to overrule them :D
  • Whilst buying tokens doesn't give you any ownership - if RAWA support them they will gift them 20% of their ownership. So they'd only have a c.31% stake, and RAWA would have 7-8%

Sounds ****ing horrendous. forget my devils advocate thing above.

  • People who've come over, to avoid all the idiots/Mags/Wums/Knaarings/cliques and want to give this place a try.
That's me. I was on RTG when it was the FTM executive back in my uni days in mid 90s. Times have changed.

Uni in the mid 90s? Quality mate. Little bit before my time.
