Head of Coaching at the Academy I assume. Also potentially in charge of coaching development - i.e. innovations and education for coaches throughout the club.
After reading the tweets more than once yes that dawned on me :emoticon-0102-bigsm. Interesting choice to promote internally to the top academy job instead of appointing the new lad to it given he spent 5 years as an assistant academy manager

I think Head of Coaching is actually as senior (if not more so) than the Head of Academy role. If coaching as an area has been taken away from Head of Academy - that role will surely be more down to the management of the people, parents etc. And if this guy has been there a long while he'll already know the parents and the kids.

The future of this club has to be about the academy. There has always been a rich vein of talent in the North East. They don't all have to be Henderson or Pickford, there are plenty of lads from our academy who have gone on to have good careers after being discarded by us. And that is before you start talking about the Hugills, Pyes, Greenwoods and Mumbas.....

Invest in the academy - not just financially but emotionally too. Prove to these kids that there is a route into the 1st team. Take a gamble on them and let them show what they can do. I sincerely hope the emergency free signings like the Harpers, Lynchs, Lescotts and Wrights of recent years can be a long and distant memory. If you cannot use your u23s when you have an injury crisis then when can you?

Makes sense. Dickman was our head of coaching
