Saturday. 12pm.
I was just about to post over the road that Reiver has said it’s noon on Saturday. Just thought I’d read it again and realised it wasn’t t Reiver who said it !
Glad I re read it saved me some hassle !
I’m getting owld.

Here's a little message for all my fans on RTG. (Apologies to the lads on here for mentioning the other forum.)

During the FPP takeover, that Donald scuppered, I referred to a 'sting in the tail' for Newcastle supporters if it went through.

When pushed I revealed that FPP had made an offer for NUFC that Ashley blew by introducing 'other buyers' to try to bump up the price.

This was the first time it had ever been mentioned and was never in the media.

I was roundly ridiculed on RTG, at the time, and the usual suspects claimed I'd made it all up and embellished the story.

Perhaps you think the Financial Times are colluding with me lads <laugh>

"MSD’s push into English football has been spearheaded by Robert Platek, the firm’s global head of credit, and managing director John Licciardello. It began with Newcastle United, the team owned by UK retail billionaire Mike Ashley," the FT reports.
"When the possibility of a transaction involving Newcastle fell through, MSD was approached about the north-east team’s local rivals Sunderland."

Is there any need for someone who mentions RTG every day of his life to apologise for mentioning it today ?
Absolutely not, I would say.
