But maybe just maybe they might be announcing everything at the same time - takeover, plans, management team and so on. Maybe just maybe they don't want to do an announcement just for the takeover, then another for the manager, then another one and another one every time something new occurs. All you and the rest of us can do at the moment is be patient

It would make sense to take that approach, if they do have all of these lined up, or close to being so.

Do you think every Sunderland fan reads 606 or RTG?

It would be ridiculous to have gone through a takeover to then not announce it, whilst recruiting a new manager. I can't actually believe i'm having to explain this.
No, but its all over Twitter too isn't it? Plus, I'm sure that at least some of the people on here, RTG, or Twitter know one or two actual human beings in the real world that they might talk to. Information isn't confined to the Internet. But it still makes absolutely no difference whether the press think Donald picked the manager, Sartori picked the manager, you picked the manager, or the 1st Viscount Alanbrooke picked the manager.
If you're trying to say that you want confirmation that the new manager is the new owner's choice, then I agree, that would be nice to know but we'll just have to wait.

I'm not really sure if you've misinterpreted what i've said, but my whole point is that the club should announce everything at once, and that announcing a manager (but not announcing a takeover IF it had been completed), would be stupid.

Your reiterating exactly what i've said should be done in getting everything alligned then doing it together.

It's a pretty mute point really.

I cant for the life of me seeing the club announcing the new manager with no mention of the takeover. I would assume (and hope) it's all done in one go.

Kevin Phillips and the Echo throwing Pearson into the ring this late in the day is pretty annoying mind. do that on Monday if you're gonna do it lads - not Friday.

But you're the only one kicking off about the world not knowing that the manager/head coach or whatever he's going to be called is looking like its Donald's appointment!

If pearson wants the job as Phillips says and we aren’t interested for whatever reason it shows despite what might be going on in the background the club has zero ambition and whoever calling the shots is clueless. And before people start talking about structure and director of football etc lets get something straight - the manager is the most important person at any football club. Always has been and always will be. You can have an amazing director of football and people behind the scenes but if your manager is ****e the team will be ****e

can't see it happening at all sadly much better than Cowley

What on earth are you going on about?

The original point i made was simply that i can't see the club announcing a new manager, without announcing the takeover has gone through.

There would be no reason to not announce a takeover had it gone through, at the time a new manager has been appointed.

I’ll just reiterate a point that may have got lost in my senseless ranting just now. And I’m not being negative, but I think people would do well to temper their expectations.

Pompey have been owned by a billionaire since 2017 and done nowt. He’s nowhere near as rich as KLD. But my point is being a billionaire doesn’t mean you have to splash the cash. Interviews have said KLD will take things slowly and sustainably.

We can all hope and dream for some big names and it would be awesome if it happens, but there’s a risk too many fans have started expecting we are the next city here, when that’s still a thousand to one shot.
Spot on, irrespective of the wealth of the owner, League 1 clubs can't splash the cash to get promoted so will need build a team rather that buy one.
Currently we are a mid table third tier club but the potential is there to get back to where we belong with a couple of additions in the right areas. I reckon a brave manager and pace in the final third would make our average squad a very good third tier squad.

But not all football clubs are run in that way. The point of a continental set up, which seems to be the direction we're heading in, is that the club has a clear direction on and off the pitch that is maintained without disruption if and when the manager/head coach needs firing. This would mean that we wouldn't have the major lurches from one approach to another like we did, for instance, when Allardyce replaced Advocaat.
Pearson doesn't strike me as the kind of manager who would fit in with that approach so, if that's what we're doing, going after him would be pointless.

Its a shame that the pace in the final third scored 2 goals in the championship for boro and got a round of applause in the dressing room after the game.

Eh.... so they may not want Pearson and that shows a lack of ambition ?
