To me, and it's just my opinion, Donald has made these decisions then backed away and left Rodwell to do the dirty work and cop the backlash. As it stands we only have rumours of behind the scenes fall outs, but it wouldn't surprise me it it was true and there was some petty score settling going on with people being "collateral damage".

Its really easy to blame Rodwell, when the main man hides away and drops him in it.
