Seems pointless sacking parky then letting one of his right hand men take over, yeah I agree take the hit now and get the right man in
At the end of the day though it’s all just information from sources. Keith Downie has his sources just as Prehab and Magnus have their sources. Earlier today Prehab and Magnus were given info that was most likely correct at the time but then something transpired that changed events. The sources that have told Downie that Poyet is not joining now may have been correct as of 5pm today. But there’s nothing to say something can’t change again, just as it did earlier. So this is why you can’t really say that Poyet as manager is “definitely dead”. That’s not to say Downie and Sky were wrong, but that things could still further change.
yeh I can’t disagree with that. Was more referring to the hope some seem to have that Downie is wrong and misinformed.
“Poyet didn’t want to work under a director of football” is harder to reverse than “poyet didn’t want to drop a league” I reckon they still hold a hope for Gus
agree - and the fact we don’t have a director of football and I’m guessing they’re not quite ready for it to leak out more officially that we will be...
Whole set up is ****ing rotten from owners through to coaching staff and onto players, be happy if the new lot just ripped it all up and started again
I’m optimistic for positive news tomorrow. This morning when I woke up Poyet was still just the favourite rather than nailed on. I think it’s only because he seemed so nailed on as the day went on, that it now feels so bad. If that hadn’t happened, and he’d just been ruled out, nobody would have been that fussed frankly.
The sporting director situation needs to be resolved as soon as possible. The club need a direction and it has to come from this person. Whoever it may be has to be installed before anyone else.
Yeah that’s exactly been my thinking. We had all still been extremely optimistic and excited following the Parkinson sacking on Sunday and the anticipated takeover coming up. There’s no reason for that optimism to not remain, we are all just suddenly disappointed it isn’t Gus when it seemed so sure to be. But in reality he was never nailed on from the start and we were all still as excited.
Not a ****ing hope he travels to Sunderland not knowing his job will involve working under a DOF. Are we seriously believing he only found that out when interviewed and he never raised the question before travelling Something spooked him and the big concern now is what was it
If I was a betting man I’d say it was something to do with either his contract or transfer policy. I think if they told me we’d get no new striker I’d probably say no myself and I’m a supporter.
he’ll have known the plan - he may well have met said DOF today or only today discussed the ins and outs of how it would work. I wouldn’t read too much into it unless more comes out. Parkinson sacked and takeover happening. If somebody had offered that Sunday morning I’d have taken it
Could this be the reason weve not appointed Poyet. Yet. https://www-sunderlandecho-com.cdn....e-will-affect-big-managerial-decision-3053301
