Would be a safer bet to just never buy anyone again and promote from the academy only
Max Dean looks a right prospect. Oh...wait a minute...

But Farkes said two days ago he prefers to sign players than loan them
I'm not fussed he's going. We overpaid for what we got. I never thought we'd get our money back. Take the money and run.
Tin hat at the ready.
He did though ask to be included against Boro when most would have been too afraid of injury, it also cup tied him.I been chatting to my brother about this tonight,
The last word was with the player,
He engineered the move via his agent, last minute release clause deadline etc.
The kid is a ****, his career will be like KPs only without the medals.

I was critical of Rutter back end of last season, only seemed to want to pass to Summerville even when better options were on, not sure if that was following instructions or just his decision. He constantly lost the ball putting us under pressure time and time again. If I'm honest, and it's not sour grapes, I think it will be a couple of seasons before he's ready for the PL and will take some coaching too. He's got bags of natural talent it just needs nurturing. So I think to get £40m for him is good business, the annoying part is, we're not replacing these players and you can feel the Kinnear spin coming our way any day now.
I agree. I'm astounded we made a profit on him.
My concern I'd that we've let Gray, Summerville AND Rutter go. We've replaced Gray with Bogle which I'm okay with. We've not replaced Summerville yet and I'm worried about replacing Rutter.
Individuals leaving is fine. Letting ALL those goals and assists and dynamics leave is a worry.
It's not impossible but recruitment has to be bang on and it rarely is....at any club.

It was.Thought the general consensus was that this league was more fun anyway.
It’s just a very bizarre release clause. Why would it run out at midnight on the 14th August 18 months into his contract so it must have been there from the moment he signed. Secondly, who alerted Brighton to the release cause? Did the club cash in (in which case why offer the new contract, if that really happened) or was it the player/agent (which would make him just another rat in my eyes). Anyway, they had a good result against Everton today so he’d better get ready for splinters in his arse. From The Athletic
"At Elland Road, there was a difference of opinion about how the transfer might be structured.
Andrea Radrizzani, Leeds’ then chairman, had floated the idea of taking Rutter on loan with an obligation to sign him permanently.
As it was January, any obligation would be set for the end of the season (and, presumably, dependent on Leeds surviving in the Premier League). But Radrizzani was in his final throes as majority shareholder and 49ers Enterprises, the minority group poised to buy him out, was not inclined to kick a long-term move — or responsibility for Rutter’s fee — down the road. Radrizzani might be gone by then. The Americans insisted the loan option was shelved and a permanent deal be completed immediately."
So dose anyone belive that the 49ers did'nt know about the clause in his contract? Dose anyone belive that the 49ers did not know about anything in any contract?
I mean they have been shareholder in Leeds since 2018 (15%), got 44% in 2021 and bought the lot in 2023. Ofcause they did, they knew everything. They were in on it. Unless they are the dumbest busienss men in the history of the wold.
They now have to get 5 signings in the door before the window closes. And it has to be quality.

It was there last season too, just nobody wanted him for that kind of money. Theory is the date gives us time in the market, it can’t be activated when it’s too late to replace. It’s just a very bizarre release clause. PR is there for a reason and sadly I cannot believe a word that comes out. Archie was told not to return to training and they didn't want him back. He was desperate to stay but once he thought he was going to be frozen out he signed plus it was nearing the midnight deadline. He could have easily said to the club, I will sign a new contract and stay one more season and have the same clause inserted at a future date, there are numerous ways he could have stayed and got his move next season or in the January window. The bottom line is the club asked him to remain, he said no, blame Orta and Rutter not the management on this occassion
