Will you lot please listen to Heidi. She knows more than the whole lot of us have dreamt up in the last decade. And that’s a fact. I’m done with second guessing what’s gone on
I respect Heidi 100% and she will have connections at the club that none of us are aware of. We can all listen to theory’s, rumours, PR all day long, I however, make my mind up based on what words I actually hear come out of the individual’s mouth. Archie Gray is NOT a Leeds supporter, he actually supports Celtic, Google it and you’ll see him admitting it himself. in an interview I’ve watched myself, he said: “At the start of the window I didn’t really know anything about a potential transfer anywhere and I was content to stay at Leeds, but as soon as I heard Tottenham were coming in I was like ‘I need to go there'. “It’s a huge club and my dad said that too. He came to my room one morning and said 'look, you’ve got to go to Spurs. It’s a massive club'. My grandad was saying it as well, he’s obviously done pretty well in his career, and he said at some point you've got to go to one of the biggest clubs in England and he thinks now is the right time and he thinks Spurs is a massive club as well. “So, with people who have been advising me my whole life, I have to listen to them and I also wanted to do it too, so that was definitely a massive thing and since then I’ve enjoyed every second of it. So, definitely happy that I made that decision.” It doesn’t mean I hate him, it doesn’t mean I’m not remaining slightly open minded, but how can you totally dismiss those spoken words. Would Gray not have said or threw in an even slightly cryptic clue that he felt pushed out. Why add in the bit about father and grandfather, that’s just a stretch of the imagination too far if it didn’t happen. Either way, if we needed to meet fair play rules it was great business, yes I’m a bit concerned as to why we didn’t wait and see what happened with Rutter, but if there was a release clause and it was activated then it’s up to the player and agent who obviously inserted such a clause. I’ll judge at the end of the transfer window but the owner bashing mentality has just become a bad habit, probably a hangover from Bates, Cellino and GFH.
Remember Archie had accepted a transfer to Brentford and it was only then that Spurs came in for him as he had had a medical too. The club then said they got better payment terms from Spurs and Archie then decided on Spurs for the reasons Ristac said above.
Being a Celtic fan, he is also a huge admirer of Postecoglou. He also said being coached by him was a huge factor and he sees himself as predominantly a midfielder. The kind of cryptic clues you look for in reasons to want a move I want to blame Farke for underperforming so yes, I’ll jump on this that Archie doesn’t feel Farke was the right person for his development
