You have to unwatch all the threads you've inadvertently watched as well.
It's a bit of a chew on stopping all the emails!

Oh well that's my theory blown out of the water
I had similar problems to you and reset everything back to initial settings then changed one setting a day until the emails stopped strangely enough they stopped before I got to using the link in the actual email but others have had success just using that

To put it another way I've no idea what I did specifically that worked but at least I am now email free
I think both sites go off line ever night to update their databases, in much the same way as banks do.

Can't believe the difference between the 2 places today. 1 with loads of threads complaining and a lot of arguing, 1 with half a dozed threads with sensible debate and conversation.
Might not be the busiest, but better content is better than more content

Oh and for the rtg lurkers, especially some of the mods. Don't hold it against posters who might prefer the more sociable tone on here and just because your the most popular board doesn't make you superior
