You need more then that. You need the whole team to chip in not 4 players

As for Koren i think if we was going to sign him we would have signed him by now. With the middle man (Hull) being cut out the deal with the release clause it would be a relatively straight forward deal

agree with Proud Fox, If Koren was going to sign for Lester he would have signed by now. I think Koren and City are just going over the contract been offered to him and sorting out a few nuts and bolts

I don't think the clause would cut out Hull City, I think it would only allow you to talk to the player. Think City could still put a spanner in works by saying **** off we want more.

Nah, not at all. He can talk to anyone who bids enough to trigger the release clause and we have zero say where he goes. If one club bids £5m and another 500k, if the release clause is 500k then we cant stop him choosing them.

Yes we can, we own his registration and can refuse to release it. Without that he can not play. The clause only allows him to talk to clubs. We still do not have to accept the figure.

probably says 'at least' 500k. in a dutch auction it could be more. depends how much the contract is written in koren's favour?

That'd be a totally pointless clause then wouldn't it?

The whole point of a release clause is that if the pre-determined figure is met it has to be accepted.

No, it isn't pointless. The whole idea is that if a figure is reached a player has the right to talk to the other club to talk terms. There is no requirement to sell that player.

That's completely pointless.

When they say 'player x has been allowed to talk to club y' it means the offer is accepted. If you could get out of clauses that easily they would be written into all of them without thinking about it, and it would have absolutely 0 value to anyone.

I've always understood it to mean that you have to give the player the right to talk to that club, and should they get on, and the player says he's off - then he's off and there's a cheque in the post.

Why would anyone put a release clause in otherwise? If it doesn't release him for that amount - it's not a release clause.

Wasn't Bruce supposed to be having talks with Koren about a new contract over the weekend?
Not heard any news. Hopefully the silence means Koren is just considering the offer and will re-sign this week.
It would be good to get the uncertainty out of the way one way or another.

in what i would call a more classical attacking centre midfield player on saturday, he was without doubt head-and-shoulders above the rest. i hope he signs and if he doesn't there ll be big shoes to fill

As fans we are understandably impatient. I think the simple fact though,is Robbie is simply leaving his options open.
He does stay tight lipped,so he could be hoping for anything. A player of his quality won't feel under any pressure
to do anything !

Anyone who makes an offer which activates to clause then there is nothing you can do to stop the deal, the only thing you could do is try to convice the player to turn it down. You cant refuse to release the registration and if you could then the football league, FA or even UEFA would get involved and put the move through

With release clauses they isnt much you can do but thats why player get them put in there
