Yep, good news for us I think. They get knackered and we get a rest in two weeks time.

Or we get confident, build momentum etc. We were told how knackered we were going to be last year and it didn't affect us. Football is all about confidence, winning increases it and losing decreases it. When you are at the top of your game and firing on all cylinders you can run on adrenaline like Bale now. It's only when you dip in form you feel the effects of tiredness

Or Rafa gets distracted and fields weakened sides in the league. Or Mata isn't up to two games a week every week and you drop off.
Time will tell.

Odd, I'd have thought United would have wanted the Double with no pressure on the league, and Chelsea to have maybe junked this for the other two concerns of theirs, or will they sack off the EL now?

Mata was laughably bad today. Time will tell but I'd rather win games and build momentum than not

He did set up the only goal of the game, though. Didn't play against Southampton and you lost.
He's easily your most important player.

In terms of creativity that's undeniable but we are awful at the back without Luiz. The media hate campaign against Luiz has shrouded over the fact that its 14 months since we've kept a clean sheet without him in the side.

We lost against Southampton because Luiz and Ramires didn't play. Even without Mata we should have comfortably taken a point from that game.

Really important touch of the ball today when Giggs put Hernandez through and it was almost missed by the commentators.
Think the Mexican would've buried it, otherwise.

Everyone around me thought it was in.

Good that a horrifically average United side won't get to he double though. Seems they come unstuck against half decent teams as Real, Spurs and Chelsea proved. They would not have beaten us once in 4 attempts but for Clattenburg.

Hard to see where it would fit in unless its left to the last week, it could be shoe-horned on Mon 29th, harsh...but who cares!

A nice replay against Man City would help too!

would be harsh to call us Average and Clattenburg didn't have a bad a game then people made out in the 2 3, defeat for football today and probably a defeat for football in the semis.

I think Coco has already shown that he will go for the glory of the Cups, and sacrifice the EPL. That has got to be extremely worrying for Chelsea fans, who would, if offered the EL/FA Cup + 5th (behind us and the Gooners) or 3rd/4th spot and no cups, would absolutely take the latter.

But Coco clearly wants to bolster his CV, and "finished Top 4" (for a team that really ought to finish Top 4, no matter who is in charge) really isn't that exciting. Much better to be able to brag that "I brought CFC cup glory, even though the ungrateful bastards didn't give me a chance."

I'd probably do the same, in his position.

Looks to me as though it will have to be Wed 8th May, as Wed 15th May is the date of the Europa League Final so if either of you reach the final that date is out as well and another added complication for Chelsea would be if they reach the FA Cup Final they will have the Villa game to reschedule too!

Doesn't say much for the rest of the PL then, does it? This team has just become the first team ever to win 25 of the first 30 league games. Makes you talking up Chelsea either a contradiction or nonsense. You take your pick.

Poor show from QPR this evening, very lucky to still be in the game as they haven't turned up. 3-0 down and then Adel Taarabt gives them a glimmer of hope with a good strike. 3-1 at half-time and time for Harry to earn his money !

3-1 to Fulham at half-time in the battle of our ex-managers, with two of our ex-players getting on the score sheet. Berbatov (2, 1 pen), Hill OG and Taarabt.
Big 2nd half performance needed or Redknapp's new employers are in real trouble.
