Both were penalties, as was the Glen Johnson handball, but not the Rooney claim.

Flanagan walking a very fine line now. Might be the only way that Man Utd can get back into this and Rodgers should consider subbing him.

Rafael and Flanagan could both have gone in the same move, then. One more foul from either and they'll be off.

Rafael should have gone for the handball in the first half. I can't believe he didn't get a second yellow for that.

  5. Players like RVP, Rooney, and Rafael simply do not become this ****e over night. That has to be down to the manager, surely?

Third penalty, Vidic off! <laugh> Gerrard hat-trick, presumably.

I wonder where Moyes will go next?

Gerrard hits the post! <laugh> Would've been the first Premier League penalty hat-trick.

My iPod died so I didn't see the pen - did he go to the right again?

No, he went left and hit the base of the post.
Should've had another penalty, too. Sturridge might've dived for the third one, but Carrick caught him on the next one.

You have to say Liverpool are a class above United as are all the current top 4 in the league. Massive credit to Rodgers for changing Liverpool around and getting the players he wanted. To decide that he didn't want Carroll (even though the club had just paid £35 million for him) as he didn't fit into the way he wanted his team to play was a brave but excellent move.

3-0, Suarez. Looked absolutely miles offside on first view, but he was level. Could easily get worse and the scoreline's not flattering.

Another penalty shout for Liverpool, but I think Clattenburg has realised that he'll never ref here again if he gives any more.

  14. £ity's and Chav's fan-bases are going to swell after today, that's for sure. No plastic is going to be supporting United for a very long time.

I'd like to see 'Pool win the title, over the course of the season I've been more impressed with them than any other side and it'd be nice to see them - an "outsider" - win the league than a favourite such as Chelsea or City. Even if it does mean that in 10 years time they'll revert back to history when bigging themselves up!

Jan Molby told The Liverpool Echo, neither of whom are biased or anything, say that neutrals want to see Liverpool win the Premier League because of the loyalty that Steven Gerrard has shown to the club.

So the whitewashing begins already: we're supposed to forget that Gerrard was going to sign for Chelsea in 2005, and the only reason he stayed was because of threats his family received in response to him potentially leaving.

He's so loyal the club admitted that he turned down a contract offer of £100k per week: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/4653041.stm

Coping with Utd's demise is one thing; coping with Liverpool winning the title is quite another <grr> :headbang:<ale>:emoticon-0132-envy::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0172-mooni<wah>

I'm not a United fan but agree that it would be unbearable. That said, if the board had any thoughts of giving Moyes a stay of execution that would probably snuff them out altogether.

The title talk will die down a little bit when City win one of the two games in hand they have over the Mousers and nudge them out of the way.
