Anelka's attempts to say he resigned from West Brom were pretty painful - as if nobody read that West Brom stated he would be sacked over the quenelle gesture two weeks earlier...

City showing that going down to 10 men doesn't have to result in a complete collapse. Kompany off on 10, Silva puts them 1-0 up on 14, which is still the score at HT.
They may go on to lose this game, but they've put up a good fight since having one of their main players sent off and are still having as much of the ball as Hull.

2-0. Dzeko. He's been ****e today, but Silva's been outstanding. Really impressive stuff from City, but Hull will be disappointed by their performance.

  5. What a response from Pelligrini's boys to The Smug One.

Yes, asshole, you were right! £ity are favourites to win.

Now shove your mind games up your arse, because no one, except for your puerile media fawners, is interested.

Chelsea are lucky that Pelligrini struggled initially with away form, as at the start of the season they seemed to be losing every away game even when dominating the opposition, so really they should be level on points with Chelsea and have 3 games in hand, instead they need to win these games in hand to make up for their poor away form but todays result shows they are progressing as a team to win away from home, even with ten men.

Aston Villa 1-0 Chelsea. <laugh> Willian off, Delph scores, Ramires off, Mourinho off. Shame. <wah>

Very agreeable carnage at the end. Ramirez with a vicious, blatant stamp, then Mourinho complaining, apparently, that he didn't once again get a free pass to break every rule in football. :emoticon-0136-giggl

I never thought I'd say this, but...Chris Foy did his job?

Didn't catch the game but listened to the report on BBC 696 phone in on the way home and Mourinho apparently doesn't know why he was sent off.

Although two strange moments from the show. .

    1. Fulham fan phones up and says he feels disappointed his team won as it will give the players false hope of trying to stay up!

    2. A caller in a thick geordie accent claiming he's a Chelsea fan and moaning about the ref.

Really a bunch of Spurs fans should send thanks to the cyclist to even things up. Mourinho got it right when he said it's a test of character for Foy. He passed, unlike almost every other PL ref, who lets Josie walk all over them.

  14. It was a victory for football, today. Chavs couldn't luck or bully their way to a result, and it's probably cost them the title.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 'Pool finish above them. I'm sure Mad Dog has the Smug One's P45 ready (for a second time).

Man Utd's balance has been appalling. Poor team selection and tactics from Moyes and they're lucky not to be further behind.
Mata's not a winger, Januzaj isn't good enough at defending to be starting against a side like Liverpool and their defence is getting overrun.
They've lacked proper width, pace and penetration and it's been a lot like watching Spurs! <laugh>

  18. The United board has a "Rivals" thread, and it's chock full of comments about £ity, Chavs, Goofy FC, and Arsenal, which is both hilarious and sad. It's as though none of the plastics over there quite realise just how far they have sunk.

Surely, that thread should be about Saints, Villa, and the Toon? Stoke, even.

Clattenburg has given Liverpool two penalties (correctly) and failed to give two that Man Utd appealed for.
Regardless of whether he was right or not, does anyone really think that he'd have dared to do this if Ferguson was still in charge?
He was worth at least 10 points a season in managerial ability and about the same again in intimidation of officials.

I haven't seen them but were the Liverpool penalties correct? Remember that even if correct they might not have been given had SAF been manager!
