I wonder if he will survive a mid table finish. Wenger has been very successful financially, if that dried up the loyalty from the board would disappear quickly.
Maybe not but it's possible that the rot has set in just enough by now. This summer was critical. Dump Gunnersaurus' older brother and sell Sanchez and Özil and there was something to work with........Now?
By next summer Özil 'The Victorious' and Sánchez will have followed The Ox out of there but with no money coming in. Wilshire next summer and Ramsey, Welbeck, Ospina and Montreal in 2019 also have contracts that are up. How many of those are going to commit to a club that has truly lost its way and is now in civil war?
Maybe some would stay, if Wenger is replaced, but if you add in the old and injured (Cech, Mertesacker, Cazorla, Koscielny) and there ain't much quality left to build around or flog to buy in replacements. There's Bellerin, Walcott, Giroud, Elneny, Xhaka, Coquelin, Mustafa, Holding and the 2 new signings. It ain't great whether you've got Wenger managing it or Massimiliano Allegri.
So, is Stan willing to spend the half a billion pounds needed to turn that bunch of **** into something competitive? I can't see it with his current commitments in the NFL. He's pretty much borrowed to the hilt against his share of the club to build a stadium Stateside and I just don't see Stan financing anything himself, especially after buying that ranch.
It's kind of funny that they survived building The Emirates only for a stadium being built in Los Angeles to bring it all crashing down. He could sell to Usmanov but why? He bought the cow for nothing and now he's got all that milk coming in from those good people on ArsenalFanTV. Stan's an expert at milking.
