Today 14 clubs voted to close the Transfer Window two and a half weeks early. 5 sides voted against the proposal. Leicester City enquired whether it could be moved back 14 seconds?
Sporting confirmed that he'd been sold for €24.5m plus €5m in add-ons yesterday. Leicester can't even loan him out to a Turkish club to January, as he's played in Portugal and you can't play for three clubs in a season. Really **** for them if they don't get UEFA to pass the deal.
I'm reckoning "no dice". European football is currently in civil war mode. With La Liga claiming the pool needs cleaning, Citeh threatening legal action for anyone who says they're abusing FFP (which they obviously are), players going on strike left right and centre and Sporting and The Spammers bringing the game into disrepute, what will UEFA do? I reckon they'll crack down on some luckless idiots who missed a deadline by 14 seconds.............. "See, we're in control. We've stopped a football club abusing the rules." Equally, I expect FIFA to go nuclear on Dele Alli over his new 'wave'.
Arsenal, Bournemouth, Brighton, Chelsea, Everton, Huddersfield, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton, Stoke, West Brom and West Scam would all prefer to change the rules than face another Levying.
Antonio Conte's version of not being available to speak to Ross Barkley over his proposed transfer......... ".....what I read about this issue was ridiculous. Ridiculous. I stop. It's ridiculous." So, either it's spot-on or so close as to make no difference.
The funny thing is that, by just changing a few names and dates, this sounds exactly like the rise of Bugsy Siegel... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...s-new-york-melbourne-girona-a7934436.html?amp
Derby 4-0 up v Hull in the first half. Their team looks so strong on paper. They ought to be in the PL next season.
Liverpool's back 5 to play Citeh...... Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Matip, Moreno. Holy crap! That is............well, crap.
Sky commentary team all agree it should have been a yellow. Sky half time analysis points out Mane kicked the goalie in the head. Didn't change Neville's view: apparently having a suspected fractured jaw and cheekbone isn't evidence of excessive force......
This really confused me. How anyone, especially the 'experts' and 'pundits', thought that this was anything other than a blatant red card must be living in a completely different universe. Whether he meant it or not is irrelevant. All these comments on Twitter by the likes of Fowler and Savage, as well as loads of Liverpool fans thinking they've been hard done by, was just incredible. You won't see a clearer sending off than that.
Too high?...........check. Out of control?.......check. Studs up?..........check. Dangerous?........check. What's wrong with these 'experts'?
Liverpool already conceded 3 v Watford and 5 v City in their first 4 games. Typical of their poor defending over the past few seasons. They're weak at the back of their defence hasn't been improved. So why do the pundits keep bigging them up as title contenders?
