All they need now is to sign Adebayor. At least they cannot blame Levy for hindering that one this time.
Alf Garnett (played by Spurs fan Warren Mitchell) said: "Supporting West Ham is like life: the odd moment of joy down the years, but most of it is bloody misery."
In real life the daughter of Tony Booth(who played the scouse git), Cherie Booth married Tony Blair. Johnny Speight could have made a really good storyline out of that. Could you imagine Alf Garnets grand-daughter being married to the PM?
Probably going to be met with some derision here but I have good memories of getting on the District Line going past Bromley By Bow to Upton Park. I was there when Jimmy made his debut and the lads after would drink in the pubs along Green Street. The old East End had a unique atmosphere to it with the Cockneys in full flow. We'd go back into London getting off at Aldgate to view Jack the Ripper territory and have a drink or two. The lads would approach the prostitutes asking how much and in broad Cockney I'd hear "Bottle for a merchant, cockle for a Friar Tuck love." So in a way I'm sad to see West Ham in this state. Going on Wednesdays the lads would "Sausage a Gregory" in the bank and a good night would be had. I'm a bit sad I'm sorry to say when I remember Billy Bonds and his colleagues who could play some good football. Sorry.
I am absolutely ecstatic to see them in this mess. Long may it continue. They're a rabble from top to bottom.
Sorry Spurcat. Last time I went Glen Hoddle was playing for Spurs and I'd hear from behind "That's awl e is, a ****ing long ball dahn the middle." I had to laugh. Their fans weren't that knowledgable or erudite.
The Spanner set square means the long ball must go as high at it does forward. Stone (age football) masons.
Not even a decent suit and a facial shave for their key personnel can redeem them in your eyes *** ?? *** I am talking about Kerren Brady here.
Austin’s one touch goal was almost perfect, and his one touch assist was even better, after "West Ham joint-chairman David Gold has cast doubt over Charlie Austin’s value to Southampton from QPR, claiming his transfer is not a bargain ‘if his wages are £100,000 a week’. and "Gold’s co-owner, David Sullivan, previously questioned Austin, saying "he wasn’t very good" when the two sides met in the Premier League, and also questioning the former Burnley forward’s fitness after a knee injury earlier in his career" I am dying to hear what further pearls of wisdom West Ham owners see fit to pass on about Charlie Austin.
No Moorpheus, I used to go when Spurs were away. Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore etc were world cup winners and of hero status to me back then. I'm Tottenham.
Please don't hold a grudge CK, I'd just like to see what Spurs can do without Harry. I'm not happy per se that he's injured no.
They may have confused him with Charlie Adam. Especially as Spurs have not bid for him (no text cut/paste job for the Porno cartel) .
Couldn't have put it better! Their scumbag club and supporters have lived off the glory of wrongly being known as The Academy of Football since the mid-60's. Visits to their horrid little pit at the BG during the 70's and 80's were filled with dread of the Neanderthals to be faced - far worse than even Stamford Bridge or Highbury! Apologies for sitting on the fence on this one!!
