Austin’s one touch goal was almost perfect, and his one touch assist was even better, after

"West Ham joint-chairman David Gold has cast doubt over Charlie Austin’s value to Southampton from QPR, claiming his transfer is not a bargain ‘if his wages are £100,000 a week’.

and

"Gold’s co-owner, David Sullivan, previously questioned Austin, saying "he wasn’t very good" when the two sides met in the Premier League, and also questioning the former Burnley forward’s fitness after a knee injury earlier in his career"

I am dying to hear what further pearls of wisdom West Ham owners see fit to pass on about Charlie Austin.

Been saying all week that I hope Austin rams the porn kings words down their throats.

Lovely stuff :)

Would be absolute hilarlious if they went down <laugh>

They'd have to go down enough to play Leyton Orient and lose to them. That would be perfect. Orient, the club whose "legacy" has been completely ignored in all this mess.

I was listening to 'The Press Pass' on TalkSport tonight and the issue of The Spammers new home came up. Charlie Wyett stated that it will be a terrible move for them and the fact that it's an athletics stadium means that there's a terrible view and no atmosphere. He said Spurs had the right idea, the thing needed knocking down and rebuilding as a dedicated football stadium. It's been a while coming but this is the start of the pull back from the "it's a great move for The Spammers and a wonderful venue" bollocks. The thing's a complete failure as a football stadium and only people interested in making money out of this think otherwise.

De Bruyne confirmed to be out for 3-4 weeks. Normally I don't applaud an injury to a player, unless that player is employed by one of Chelsea, Arsenal or West Ham. But that is music to my ears.

The irony is that this mirrors last season perfectly. They won 6 on the trot and he was superb. Then he picked up an injury, we whalloped them 4-1 at home, and their season derailed from there.

The omens are good.

I won't wish injury on players but the timing of this is very favourable. Their goalkeeper is questionable at this point in his PL career and won't fancy dealing with Toby/Eric/Jan from corners. The defence is iffy to my mind. Not one of them displaces our best 4. The pivot is good but not exceptional and Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele shade it for me.

Up front is where they are truly gifted and KDB is the catalyst for them. Losing him is going to be a big blow and last season they weren't the same outfit without him. Let's see how they feel on Sunday after they've chased Barcelona for 90 minutes on Wednesday and lost their first game? They're not unbeatable and we can do them again.

Scottish teams often raise their game when they're playing an English team so we can only but hope.

Will be interesting to see whether de Bruyne is the difference between Citeh :

1. winning or losing
2. winning or utterly destroying an opponent

I guess we've got 4 days to recover which is a big improvement on the EL and games like Chelsea last season. Plus a bigger squad. I'm still optimistic we can get a positive result.

Alli, I've never said we'll lose any of the matches have I? I've always thought that we would win them except for the Liverpool match, I wasn't sure.

Look, now that Palace are doing well it makes our win against them look good but at the time I thought we shouldn't have struggled just to score one goal.
