The statement was bland and boring. The medical team is fantastic, I always praise them blah blah blah. Carneiro and the physio will not be on the bench Sunday, but could be in the future. I hope they ignore the request for no questions, cause this answers nothing.
Gary Monk has complained that the controversy has deprived Swansea of the credit they deserve in outplaying Chelsea. And Monk had seemed so astute.. Of course it has. That’s why Mourinho started it.
Carsten Kammlott with a sensational scorpion kick goal for Erfurt v Dresden in the German third tier: Rene Higuita eat your heart out.
Man utd...another lucky goal (good move but deflection took it in), a lucky penalty decision not being given against them and the most tedious football imaginable from an unimaginably expensive squad...if Ferguson was dead he'd be spinning in his grave!
I feel an affinity with you at present. Both our clubs are playing the same way. We have essentially good players, who are constrained by an uninspiring style of play. Typically the team is on the attack, the pace slows, the ball is passed sideways or backwards, players receive the ball standing still and the man in possession tries to pass it through the eye of a needle..... usually to no great effect. Utd have always played with two wingers; the ball was moved forward quickly whether the passes were short or long; defences were stretched and players looked to shoot at goal on a frequent basis. Losing the ball and allowing the opposition to attack was an occupational hazard. Oh for a return to this way of playing. Mata is not a winger- he should be in midfield or playing #10. Players with pace (Depay, Valencia, Young) should be hugging the touchline and taking on the full backs when they get the ball, crossing into the box when they find space. Carrick should be playing like a quarterback - receiving the ball from the defence and looking up to see who is making a run and can be picked out with a pass. Schneiderlin should be running box to box, hoping to get on the end of one of those crosses from wide areas, particularly when Rooney has made a decoy run pulling defenders out of position. This turgid, slow tempo game, retaining possession, but with little chance of an end product is a waste of time.
Wow, you have just written my thoughts I hope things will get back to something like normal once van Gaal starts to trust the defence.
I suppose the consolation is that last season van Gaal didn't know whether to stick or twist and by the time he sorted things out (by luck I think) too many points had been lost early on for us to do any better than a CL place. This time he's got two results out of two which must be a good omen.
The BBC run a poll on their matchday live. Which of these teams will finish the highest in the Premier League? Aston Villa West Ham Everton Newcastle Crystal Palace Stoke Swansea Southampton Tottenham A tad cheeky of them!
**** me! That's incredibly disrespectful to us! It implies that 'Pool, for example, are going to obviously finish above us!
I thought they'd struggle to a draw this week. Never saw a thumping like this, although I am not entirely surprised. Already, they are looking like a relegation side. It would be a massive embarrassment to the Saints' fans if they go down and Bournemouth stay up!
Sunderland 0-2 Norwich My pre season bet on DICK Advocaat to be first to resign, looks like a smart bet at the moment!
