The eventual Premier League title-winning team has started their season on Monday night in each of the past five seasons. Quirk.
417 - Man City have already completed more passes tonight than all but three PL teams completed overall in their games this weekend. Bullies
I've always thought their weakness was that at times they're a bunch of uninterested millionaires. Still I said they'd edge Arsenal for the title, with Chelsea a poor third, so I'm hoping they stay focussed.
So Courtois' appeal was rejected. I'm not sure what grounds they made up, but it was obviously going to fail. The F.A should implement a review system similar to the one in Test cricket. Appeal unsuccessfully and lose one of a finite number of chances to appeal over the course of the season. Use them frivolously and you risk losing the chance to appeal later in the season when you might have proper grounds for doing so.
Not surprised they appealed as the FA and Premier League reduced a couple of their bans last season, something which I've never seen happen before, they must've felt that they can get their way with anything.
As a fully paid up member of the goalkeepers union, I would have been well peed off for being sent off in that situation. If there is doubt, then it is not a red card. There was doubt, so Chelsea were within their rights to appeal.
I think it's a red, as the ball was right next to Gomis and he would've had a clear shot at a virtually empty net. I don't think that it was a particularly frivolous appeal, though. Not worth an extra game ban.
So the special one has banned the team doctor from first team activities? And people were not sure he is a knob? The ref asked the medical staff to come on and he has a major strop, but more than that it's vindictive and nasty. Moreover, and something I haven't heard or seen mentioned in the reports of this pathetic situation, how soon people have forgotten about that premier league legend Drogba constantly getting "injured" toward the end of a game - with Chelski having no problem with the medical staff going on to treat him when it suited them. In fact it's this constant falling over "injured" that for me means that Drogba can never be thought of as a great player.
I agree. I've always had respect for Mourinho's abilities as a coach. But, as of now, not a lot as a person. As I put on another thread, your never criticise your own staff in public. If you have something to say, do it privately. Then to top it off, he throws a childish tantrum because thousands of people supported Eva on Twatter, and basically called him a knob. Which he is!..
Moron is to Chelsea fans what Ayatollah Khomeini was to Iranians - when he issues a fatwa, that person becomes an enemy to Chelsea who must be eradicated.
Eva made the mistake of thanking those that supported her on Facebook. I mentioned it on the Premier League board and knew Mourinho wouldn't react well to it. She should have just let him rant and ignored it.
West Ham pull out of signing Barton due to fans’ protest. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/11/west-ham-joey-barton-deal-protests-supporters http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/12/west-ham-diafra-sakho-arrested-suspicion-assault They don’t want Sakho to feel anyone is poaching on his turf.
As I understand it, Mourinho is criticizing one of his own medical staff for not being able to recognize that his player was faking an injury. So there never could be a better example of a player faking an injury. And the FA just passed sanctions against players faking an injury. Which means, of course, that the FA will not enforce the new rule because it involves too big a player and too intimidating a manager.
Physios are damned if they do and damned if they don't. What if Hazard had been really injured and Eva hadn't of responded resulting in a more serious injury? Physios are there to look after the health of a clubs most important assets, the players. They have to be able to do a difficult job made more difficult by the constant cheating and feigning of injuries. Mourinho is starting to lose the plot with his increasingly random attacks on anything that moves or breathes during games.
Mourinho should, but won't, be blaming Hazard. He feigned injury to get the ref to halt the game, but failed to get up quickly enough to not need treatment. He is obviously not as well trained in the dark arts as Rooney, who feigned a head injury to stop the game but was back on his feet by the time the ref got to him.
The referee called the Doctor on twice he either considered the player was in need of immediate treatment or was faking No Doctor can ignore an urgent call to attend
Apparently Mourinho is to read a statement out before his press conference and then take no questions on Doctorgate.
