I could not disagree more! It's all well and good trying to re-build confidence, but that has to be done against realistic expectations and achievable goals. If the players genuinely believe they can win the league, how much more devastating is it going to be to their confidence when they continue to play like a shambles and lose miserably to teams that champions-in-waiting ought to be putting to bed? I think these players need to face up to the fact that, currently, they are simply not good enough to compete for a top 4 spot, and that they have a lot of hard work to do before they get any where near being competitive. Letting them believe that they are potential world-beaters is doing nothing more than pandering to an over-inflated belief they have in their own strengths, which simply cannot be sustained from the evidence we have all seen of the team's performances.
