Shouldn't place too much credence in the Goons' win because it's exactly a year to the day since they last kept a clean sheet in the CL, coincidence yes but normal service will be resumed. (Almost wrote "Normal cervix).

Unbelievable aint it. ,but wasnt the last time Tottenham Hotspur kept a clean sheet in the Champions league MORE than a year now .?

remind me.

<whistle>

yeah , thought so.

so your little bijou jokette kind of fails.

To be fair, we haven't conceded a goal in the CL for a few years.

Not PC, I was posting about an Arsenal statistic and nothing more. Why bring Spurs into this? I know what we've done and what we haven't so what's the point of your little comic strip?

Didn't know where else to put this...

"Tottenham's players have the potential to win the Premier League in future seasons, says 24-year-old Spurs midfielder Benjamin Stambouli." (Evening Standard)

<doh>
Oh, ffs! When will these idiots ever learn! "Doing a Defoe" only leads to embarrassment.

Moyes' first home game at Sociedad has seen his side go 3-0 up via a Carlos Vela hat-trick v Elche.
They were level on points with their opponents at the start of play, so that'll pull them clear of the relegation battle for the time being.

First two games, two clean sheets. That is their first clean sheets of tthe season, i watched the first game, he had them very organised in two banks of four to defend.

We could do with some of what he's instilling in that side.

They need their confidence building up. We might think he is over selling it, but I want them to believe they can fight at the top of the table.

I've just seen Klopp's interview about a move to England and he's exactly what WE need. His character is exactly right, a mature coach. I'd like to see him take the England job.

yep,it's ended up in the beeb's gossip column

goons 1 up...they have dominated the match ... west brom very poor...aint scored in around 5 matches and have only won 5 out of their last 25 home games ... no attempts on target and it took 54 to have their 1st attempt! sadly for them they aint playing us

I could not disagree more!

It's all well and good trying to re-build confidence, but that has to be done against realistic expectations and achievable goals. If the players genuinely believe they can win the league, how much more devastating is it going to be to their confidence when they continue to play like a shambles and lose miserably to teams that champions-in-waiting ought to be putting to bed?

I think these players need to face up to the fact that, currently, they are simply not good enough to compete for a top 4 spot, and that they have a lot of hard work to do before they get any where near being competitive. Letting them believe that they are potential world-beaters is doing nothing more than pandering to an over-inflated belief they have in their own strengths, which simply cannot be sustained from the evidence we have all seen of the team's performances.

Rodgers finally does what no other 'Pool (or England) manager ever dared to do - drop Slippy G.

And... BANG! The Spanners go above the Goons, as the second best side in London.

United, Arsenal and Liverpool all won. Not a great start to the weekend for us.

Still, pleased for Harry, I think he'll keep QPR up.

Stoke had more possession and more shots on target. Liverpool scored in the 85th minute. Really annoying! Still I'm sure next week TalkShite will be banging on about how Liverpool have now turned the corner.

As I mention on the "Mouser Watch" thread, Adrian Durham has already started!
