I think a little bit of a big deal is being made about that to be fair.
I didnt even hear that at all, and if there were some people singing about Gerrard, who gives a ****?
Some people just like taking the piss, and there seems to be a very Anti-Gerrard sentiment running through this country right now for some reason.

World Cup hangover combined with the slip thing.

That's perfect as its a chance to show I'm no being biased as its Gerrard; I find Man Utd fans chanting about Terry slipping cringy too but at least that had some significance to their club as it meant they won the CL! What did Chelsea get out of Gerrard's slip? Basically, the "Liverpool didn't win the league" trophy...congratulations <applause>

PS...finding something cringy is different to being offended or annoyed btw. Chelsea fans (or any other fans) can chant what they like, I'll just laugh at them :)

For the third time Gerrez, it's banter. It's a bastardisation of your own chant for Gerrard and it's a funny one at that. Fair enough if you think it's cringey, my posts have been aimed at the people getting genuinely annoyed.

As the season continues, you'll find it won't just be Chelsea/United/City/Everton singing it.

For goodness sake, you were playing a side new to the Premiership who left loads of space for him to operate in and didn't truly press him often enough. He really had an armchair ride.

The rest of what I said about him still stands.

By that logic you must have thought the same about most of Suarez's performances last season then?

He played a part in all three goals dave, that for me is excellent.

Come on Drogs, let it go.....

Only saw a few seconds on the news of Suarez in a Barca shirt so I can't comment. However the comparison doesn't hold as his game was a friendly that was already 'won' before he came on the pitch.

I will reiterate that I saw nothing from Fabregas last night that sent me into raptures.

Understandable when playing against us, obsessive when not. Just my opinion of course.

I get its banter and as I said, chanting something like that as a one off is funny. Its the continuous obsession I don't get. I couldn't really give a **** what others are doing come match day (not that bothered rest of the time) as I'm only interested in Liverpool. Each to their own though I guess <ok>

Has Rooney ever said 'we must not let it slip' and then actually slipped the following week during a title challenge? Surely you see the hilarity from a rivals point of view? If Rooney or Terry did the same thing then you'd also be singing about it.

United fans still sing about Terry slipping to miss that penalty to this day. It's banter!

Actually we beat Norwich 3-2 away between the City and Chelsea games so the comedy timing was nowhere as good as some people would hope <ok>

Morning idiot. I'm allowed to make a considered opinion rather than just following the herd as you appear to do - but then thinking has never been your strong point <ok>

Did you actually watch the full game last night?

I agree singing about teams/players who aren't even there is weird, but by 26 minutes they'd already done 2 renditions of "Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea" plus a bit of "you're not singing any more" so had nothing else to fall back on but singing about bigger clubs <ok>

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says his side have been practising breaking down defensive-minded teams in preparation for the Premier League season.

The Blues expect to be one of the title contenders and start their campaign at with newly promoted Burnley on Monday.

"When you don't have space and time to play, you need more quality," said the 51-year-old Portuguese.

"We have worked on that in training, expecting a team to be defensive and try to close every road to goal."

------------

You have to praise Jose's training methods here who must be the first coach to use a mirror in training <applause>

If you're going to lie at least make it original.

That's why Burnley are not a test of Jose's planning as Burnley did give them all the time and space in the world. This was the kind of rollover team Fabregas is used to playing against but the next few games (Everton, Swansea, Man City) will be a more interesting test

You'll also find some Liverpool fans that see the funny side (not at the time <grr>) too, me included!

The funniest part of crowds singing the Gerrard song is that the game finished 2-0. Had Gerrard not slipped we still would have lost the game and lost the title. Gerrard's slip ultimately had little to no effect on the final league result.

Don't think Suarez gave himself too many armchair rides last season - more like man on a mission!

I never said Fabregas played poorly. I merely said that I didn't believe his performance was worthy of the plaudits that it appears to have received and the conclusions that some a trying to draw. It's the 1st game of the season for goodness sake let's see how players are getting on 7 or 8 games into the season.

Tadic was very good for Southampton at the weekend. I've already asked if he can sustain that level of performance and I'm asking the same about Fabregas.

No side can yet say how their season is going to pan out and how good, bad or indifferent their individual players will be.
