I’ve got 2 daughters not much older than that so that hits pretty hard.

People always say they can’t imagine what something like that feels like, but sadly I think any parent very much can. The football mad mum or dad that got her into the game, took her to training and had the immense pride of seeing her signing up to the academy and was probably there watching.

RIP Amelia, and deepest condolences to her grieving family

In loving memory of teacher Gwen Mayor and the 16 children murdered in the Dunblane shooting 30 years ago this day.An appalling loss of young lives which left many parents mourning the death of their young innocent loved ones and a community in tatters.

I'll never forget the pain etched on griefstricken headmaster Ron Taylor's face the day after, as he pronounced.

"Evil visited us yesterday. We don't know why,we don't understand it and I guess we never will"...

R.I.P.

My wife's cousin was an emergency responder and the first medic on scene.

He never ever talked about it.

I'm not surprised,it must've been horrific and surely they were bound to have suffered some sort of PTSD afterwards. Not as nearly traumatic but my late aunt was Director of information for the Scottish office at the time and headed up the subsequent communications and was also part of a team dealing with the enquiry. She never uttered a word about it either.

RIP

Tom Georgeson's family have paid tribute to his legacy after the legendary actor died aged 88. The star enjoyed an incredible career in film and television, which included memorable roles in Boys From The Blackstuff and A Fish Called The actor died in the early hours of the morning (March 18) and his nephew, Danny Conway, told the ECHO his death comes as a shock. He said: "[I'm] gutted because we weren't expecting it. Last time I spoke to him he was in good health. I woke up to that news today and it's just sad. I was really proud of him and felt lucky to have a famous uncle."

He was good in Between the Lines

Kind of football related but wasn't Tom Georgeson in "The Manageress"? Excellent series and strangely believable.
