Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has died, aged 61.

The music star, who is best known for singing power ballad “It Must Have Been Love” as part of the Swedish band, died on Monday morning (9 December) after a long battle with an illness.

Fredriksson’s family announced the news, writing: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce that one of our biggest and most beloved artists is gone.

“Marie Fredriksson died on the morning of 9 December in the suites of her previous illness.”

Pete Frates, whose battle with motor neurone disease inspired the ice bucket challenge, has died aged 34 (the ice bucket challenge eventually raised $220m for MND research).

A truly terrible illness. My auntie lost her nephew (her sisters son) a few years ago through the same illness and a similar age. He was well known locally for Rugby Union.

David Bellamy - RIP

Can't remember the exact situation, but I remember watching Hard Talk years ago - with Tim Sebastian and Bellamy.

I was expecting a fairly tame interview for Hard Talk. Bit of chat, a few enviromental issues brought up and dissected etc.

Sebastian absolutely roasted him.

René Auberjonois - RIP

Depends on your age, but known for MASH. Benson and Star Trek.

RIP Jarvo

When we were all younger and most were fans of Waggy, Chillo, Butler Jarvis was always one of my mates favourite. At a time when long hair was the thing Alan turned up at a game sporting a new short haircut. My mate confused a barber who asked him the week after what he wanted and he replied “a Jarvo”.

RIP Alan
