Well the state is spending too much money and genuinely does need reigning in. Something, somebody has to look at this. Over 100,000 extra civil servants have been hired since COVID. Nothing gets done better or quicker .

I don't work in the public sector, though have done before and have noticed the big difference in attitude to getting things done between it and the private sector, where you can go bust if you don't shake a leg.

The problem is that most services are provided be decent people, but they carry a huge buearocracy around with them. I have had to deal with some of these, and it is like walking through setting cement trying to get anything out of them.
There are a lot of missing and much needed services like free to access youth services, massive waiting lists for mental health services and support and it comes from them having no support. This will get worse and it’s needed because of the costs of living. The beneficiaries of reform are those who need nowt so the cost of living for families int improve, work will be less stable not more under reform, health will start to cost us but only the rich and corporations will get richer. The way to reduce a need for services is improve economic and social conditions not remove services.

Thanks for you intellectual response, I'll stick to debating with @Pure River Slut , at least he makes some valid points other than Farge is a ****, which not many people on here would actually disagree with.
Only problem is unless the party in power gets a grip no matter who it is there is always a chance someone like Farage gets in.
I honestly believe the majority of this country have little to no knowledge of how politics work.
It's very easy for someone like Farage to convince them he can be the one to make things better.
In my work place in a morning there are 40 members of staff and to here there conversation worries me how easily Farage could get in
Worrying for me that people think of only one policy. I think managing safety is a really valid ask for an immigration policy and needs sorting and the numbers are too big, but it won’t help with the cost of living and the safety cushion people need. Labour are going in on preventative services to save money further ahead in the system. It’s the right approach but needs more investment to work. Removing services entirely has been proven to be a disaster for the last conservative government. That’s what’s made communities feel less safe and neglected.

Were I a betting person, and I'm not, I would invest a few bob on her being recalled to The Cabinet, probably before the next Election.

In a Parliament almost full of nonentities, she is one of the few, colourful personalities.

With the despicable Trump Clone apparently conning vast swathes of voters, Labour are going to need someone in the 'front line' to wave the flag and energise the troops.
If by some freak chance Jeremy Corbyn gets his new left wing Party off the ground, thus taking votes from Labour it would be foolish to ignore her for the combativeness that she would bring.

(Or she might just resign from politics and become a TV or Social Media Personality:emoticon-0116-evilg)
I agree with your views on her. It’s a massive shame.

I agree with most of what you say and it is a good post.

As a general point I don’t use the c word a lot but I think of another word that sums him up. I could have added grifting liar.

I’ve just read that and it all sounds positive to me, we will find out nearer the election and I will probably change my mind then<laugh>

As weird as this sounds I can see a scenario where Labour, Liberals and Tories collude in some way to reduce the impact of Reform at the next election. It might not be transparent but I can see it just might happen. Farage and his right wing racist nutters pose an existential thread to the way the UK are governed and how we are seen in the rest of the world. Look at the States now, run by a right wing populist idiot and supported by Farage, The States have become a pirayah country not trusted by what once was loyal allies.. This is where the UK is headed if Farge and his lunatic followers have any hands on power. I find it amazing ANYONE listening to this phoney and the bollocks he spews thinks he is the answer... Not saying the other parties are...but dear God, Not Farage
yet much better than Lammy and Starmer the liar

He is running on the Trump play book. He is ultra right wing that will be the cause of division and disruption in the country. His anti europe stance has already cost the country billions of pounds. He wants to change the electoral system ( many agree, I don't) He doesn't believe in climate change...clearly goes against all science and proof. He wants to decriminalise certain drugs... again many might agree, I don't
What does " ultra right wing" mean?

I don’t think that but I think crazy Roger supports fascism and I think we’ll find Farage is one
The teachings of chairman Mao Tse Slut spent an evening trying to trip me up because he wont answer question about Rayners thefts, yet cant read English and only sees what he wants The answer was Antifa fascists

Maybe. But pouring endless money into anything rarely makes it better.

Nowhere has it been proved that economic conditions generally are improved by pouring state money into things, beyond a certain point, which it could be argued we are past.

Money has to be made. Three quarters of private businesses in the UK are small or medium sized and many do not make much margin at all, and much less since Reeves' budget.

Frankly, there is not one single politician around now who I would p*** on if they were on fire. The quality of people involved and aiming to be is so poor.

Poland, and other Eastern European states will soon overtake us economically. They have smaller state apparatus and lower taxes. Italy too now, after decades of sclerosis is now a better bet for cash than here.

We are governed very badly, by amateur opticians and entrenched, unelected public bodies.
