I knew you were going to bring her up. It really is simple. If you plead guilty there is no need tor a trial to establish guilt. You can move straight on to sentencing. She plead guilty. If you plead not guilty then there has to be a trial to establish guilt. These two arseholes plead not guilty and tried to lie their way out of it. Therefore there has to be a trial (indeed two trials) which delays things, often for a long time. Exactly how the legal system worked under the Tories. If Starmer is mysteriously manipulating the case in the background - he isn't - then he is to be commended. The jury couldn't reach a verdict on one of the counts.
