As Rick Everitt said on TalkSPORTS last night, we will end up signing out of contract journeymen that other clubs don't want. If Rhys Williams was anywhere near fit, surely another Championship club would not be loaning him to us. Roger Johnson ran his race for us last season - it is unlikely he has improved aged 32 since we last released him 6 months ago. Watt is being sold to Cardiff - where is the cash going?
The only reason Rhys Williams has joined on a 28 day loan is to get him fit for Middlesbrough's promotion push. Boro are using us to hone his fitness, no more no less.
For the last 6-7 years Murray has turned up at fans meetings doing his "aw shucks sorry" routine...plus "I am a fan like you" Yesterday the act was seen through.
I think that yesterday Murray was 'Called' and the East & West Standers saw his cards! ....... he's holding nothing... a busted flush The Douche needs to tell him to go and play Footballchairman on his PS2 in the bedroom while the grown ups talk to the fans.
In the short term possibly, particularly if we start climbing the table. BUT there is no guarantee that it will work should the pair of them come back and so they will get to know how bad things are.
I'd love Poyet back he hasn't done it at West Ham Huddersfield or MK Dons but for us he was outstanding .Maybe we are the club for him absolute quality in every game he played for cafc and exactly the type of midfielder we need .
If he said British, then this guy is a aussie aint he? Heard Watt had to go so the investigation into dodgey transfer deals would go away ??
i dont know. i think we all maybe have a "anything is better" type of feeling at the moment. poyet's loyalty wasnt exactly his strongest strength when with us, and now he's picking up 20k a week at west ham, will he give everything for our cause, knowing he'll still pick up 20k even if he plays sh1t?
True mate and I don't mean him and Yann at tnexpense of Lookman. Time will tell he definately became bills big boy when leaving I told him that on Twitter and got blocked BUT he was quality first time round without a doubt
Totally agree with this and lets not forget that KM did all she could to keep him at the Valley it was her predecessor that failed to get him signed up before it was to late.
But my understanding was she would get Poyet signed on a new contract & then send him over to Standard Liege to play. On that basis I can understand Poyet not wanting to be associated with the Charlton owners
If Poyet had wanted to stay at the Valley and play for Charlton there is nothing she could have done to force him to go to Standard. It was my understanding that Poyet wanted to go to West Ham
Poyet had planned discussions cancelled (sound familiar), like the rest of the other players and told all would have to wait. Wiggins was then given a 4 year deal. Poyet then went on to win POTY.
Bump By allowing himself to be used today, Murray not only planted both feet firmly in Belgian soil (compost), he also trashed the remaining 5% of his Charlton reputation. Even fans who had defended him up to now have turned on him today.
