Once again you flip your lid and make it personal. Try reading what I wrote, of course Covid has impacted on healthcare delivery, nobody is disputing that. Joe was very specific about why his op was delayed. And here’s you claiming he was ‘duped’ by the doctors. It’s ****ing crass mate.

I don’t know the specific reason for the delays in Joe’s case. I can do nothing more than pray and hope that, whatever the reason, he catches a break and everything turns out right for him. Also - and let me make this as clear as I possibly can - I have absolutely no doubt that that is how everyone of us feels. Do not take anything from what I write to be a criticism on anyone, in that regard. However, the idea that people are not suffering, in their tens of thousands, from cancelled operations, clinics, checks, etc due to the obsession with the coronavirus simply is not sustainable. I make absolutely no apology for writing in strong terms on this subject, because I am extremely angry at what I am witnessing. I have seen this firsthand, and I have seen it affecting people I know and love.
HIAG you’ve chosen to make this about Joe without knowing his facts. What I do know is that he is highly vulnerable to the common symptoms of Covid, and what he’s told me puts him in a high-risk category, so if the doctors have taken the decision to keep him out of the hospital for that or for any other reason then it’s an informed decision and you’re completely unqualified to suggest otherwise. Let’s not tear chunks out of each other over it, we all hope for the best for the big man and that’s the bottom line. If you wanna continue ranting, chop chop away to another thread/board/country.
People cannot have this both ways. You cannot, on the one hand, lockdown healthy people or otherwise put restrictions on them that destroy their businesses or their jobs for the sake of protecting the 0.1% of people who might be affected by the coronavirus and, on the other hand, purport to have sympathy for the tens of thousands of people who will die due to cancelled operations and checkups and who might not otherwise have died (or have had their lives severely impacted) as a direct result of this obsession with a virus that 99.9% of people will recover from. Which is it to be?
If you don’t know the specific reasons for the delay to Joe’s op, then it’s probably best not to speculate on it and put it down to Covid impact then mate. Especially as he was clear with everybody about the reasons. As for the impact on healthcare delivery, it’s true that it’s having a huge detrimental impact, that’s not down to an ‘obsession’ as you put it though, that’s down to a major public health issue, combined with years of underfunding to the NHS and a woeful management of test, track and isolate from govt. As I’ve said, there’s no easy route through this. If you open up fully you will get a massive spike in hospital admissions, deaths and with it huge strain on healthcare resources which will likely have an even bigger impact on the other areas of healthcare provision. If you lockdown completely, then you have all of the problems associated with missed appointments, diagnoses, delayed operations etc. It can be managed a lot better though. Test, track and isolate. Compulsory masks indoors (we’ve just about got there in Oct) temp checks etc. Some countries did this early on and have managed to largely open up and return to some degree of normality.
I’m speculating on nothing. The medical profession has published the facts. There you go again, trying to diminish the very clear and real impact that this obsession with coronavirus has had on the overall health of this country. There is no doubting that waiting lists were too large before this Government’s actions over coronavirus, but are you trying to suggest that things are not exponentially worse, now, as a direct result of the Government’s actions? I want you to give a very clear and straight answer to this. I’m sorry, but you are speaking utter nonsense. Again, you are doing nothing more than aping the propaganda fed to you via the mainstream media. What spike in hospital admissions are you talking about? This country has never reached the point at which the treatment of coronavirus has become a problem. Not even close. The extra wards that were opened to deal with the projected apocalypse had to be closed because they were not needed. There are nurse whistle blowers telling us that cancer wards are empty because people are too afraid of going into hospital, or there are no doctors referring patients. You don’t hear this in the mainstream media because it does not fit with the agenda that is being pushed. I give up!
