Our injured (key) players are going to miss our winnable games, I think we will be relegated. We can't complain at the fixtures as everyone plays everyone else home and away, with our run in we should be quite a way clear of our rivals by April and I just don't see it.

In the last 6 weeks we've played Swansea, West Brom twice, Lester and a massively out of form West Ham. If that's not a favourable run of fixtures I dont know what is.

From these games we got 1 point and scored ZERO goals.

In the last six weeks we beat Everton 2-0 and Sunderland 3-1, that's 5 goals and six points, the West Brom game wasn't in the last six weeks.

We will stay up, once we get our players back from injury I and make a couple of signings we will be fine, however we will be in the scrap until the end of the season, without a doubt.

Our wins come against:

Aston Villa, Sunderland (We never get beat by Sunderland), Leicester City and Burnley. Then we will get a point on the last day of the season against Manchester United.

In the Premier League our record against Sunderland is: Played 7. Won 3. Lost 4. Solid unbeaten record!

With the current players available I expect relegation, but if key players return and we get a decent addition or two before the end of this month, then we could easily turn things around.

Sorry mate, but no. We have to play 9 of the top 10 and 7 of the bottom 10.
I cannot see us getting 18 points from these games.

Fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion. However, like many others, I believe that once we get some luck with injuries and the likes of Robertson, Jelavic, Hernandez, Diame, are all fit again, we will win games.

The question is when will they be fit again and will we attempt to bring them back too soon only for them to get injured again

I've been pretty optimistic until now but this is starting to look very much like a relegation season

No one knows, it's just a case of crossing your fingers/praying and hoping we get some well deserved luck.

Voted yes, not because I want us to go down, or because I think we are one of the worst 3 teams (with a full sqaud we aren't) but it just feels like one of those seasons to me, we've shipped some crucial late goals in too many games to deny us much needed points, confidence in front of goal is on it's arse, as demonstrated yesterday and at home to Leicester, 2 games we really should have got something out of but ended up with nil, and I can see us getting into an awkward spiral of not picking up points when we need to, added to this the growing injury list is really killing us. I can't blame Allam if he doesn't want to put more money in, we've spent a hell of a lot this season already. There is still a very good chance we can stay up, it wouldn't take much, but at the moment I just don't see it happening.

This is exactly my point people will say we have a tough run in we are unlucky but that means we have easier games elsewhere when we should put a run together and pick up some wins, we haven't done that.

I wonder how many of the 40 who voted yes will continue to support us in the Championship...

Count me as one as long as they lower the prices (I'm considering not going anyway if we stay up).

I'm at the point next season will be full adult price for the first time and spending £200/£250 on a season pass has been a no brainer in the student bracket but when it will be upwards of £500 and personally I don't feel the same love for the club/football in general anymore I need to do some thinking.

I'm not splitting hairs about the two games we won, that you ignored. <doh>

I wasnt ignoring those 2, I was making a point about the fact that people keep saying we'll pick up points when we play the lesser teams and we've just had fixture list from heaven and still did terribly. Even taking into account those 2 wins and 5 goals we've done absolutely woefully during December and Jan. We shouldve been looking at 12 points minimum if we wanted to stay up and instead we got 7 points and had multiple blanks in front of goal. Those extra 5 points I think we shouldve been looking at will be enormous.

Precisely.

But we're being ****ing unlucky with injuries.

Are we? How many injured players have other teams got? I'm not being deliberately obtuse about this, I would like to know if we are being as unlucky as people say or is it just the case that if you say it enough everyone believes it? Jelavic and Diame, yes - big losses - but Robertson, Hernandez, Rosenior and now Chester have been regularly dropped this season when fit, so can we count them as big misses? So are we really only missing 2 of our first XI players? Maybe 3 if you count one of Rosie or Robertson tends to play.

Every team gets to name a 25 man squad and in that 25 you should make sure you have enough to cope with injuries.

And people are moaning about injuries to our strikers but our back-up striker is fit, on the bench and the manager wont pick him, instead preferring to stick a defender in his first season in the top flight up-front. Well if he thinks the back-up is not up to scratch then why sign him?
