A bit O/T but I had to pick the woman up from work at around midnight last night, and whichever pair of clowns it was on talk sport, they were doing a bit of a review of our game and went off on a tangent when speaking about us. Apparently We won the FA cup We've been in the premier league for many years Nikica Jelavic has been injured all season Chester had to play right back as all our right sided players are injured Robbie Brady is our key player and been out injured for a very long time. It's the most abhorrent reporting I have ever seen or heard, people whinge about other journos but it's truly shocking that people actually get paid to spout this ****.
Not a chance that Hull City are going down. More than 3 teams worse than us and they dont have anything like the quality players missing. But it is good to see all the hissy fitters, neg heads and wummers out in force again.
Did anyone see the table pre match yesterday - almost identical to the 2009/10 season when we were relegated Played 21 won 4 drew 7 lost 10 - goal difference -7 (all the same but goal difference was -19 then) . History repeating itself ??
I fear we will go down, but I'm not sure that it's entirely a bad thing. Premier League prices are silly. £42 to watch a game already on live TV yesterday at Wet Spam was daylight robbery so the TV won out for me. At least West Brom the previous week was fairly priced, but too many of the games in the top flight are a rip-off.
We're near the top of the table for injuries. You can't say no players who have been dropped count and are injured count as important players. Who hasn't been dropped at some point?
Aye,we're going down. I'm surprised at Bruce refusing to blame the injuries, for our poor results, because it's the injuries that are to blame for our poor results.
I'm beginning to see Terry Dolan in Steve Bruce's eyes, and without out a talisman like Andy Payton figure I fear we may well be on our way down this season. But at least as ever it's interesting times being a city fan!
I agree with you however either Robertson or Rosenior would start every game so that is 4 out of 11 starters. Chester has played 16 of our games and Bruce 11 so i am pretty certain that averages 1 of them playing every game so that is 5 out of 11 starters... I would also say Hernandez or Ramirez would definately have played against West Ham in place of Quinn or Aluko. I get the point you are making but football is not just about the 11 on the pitch, rotation is a huge part of it and we haven't had that opportunity. Add in some daft red cards from a couple of players, and you can't say we have not been unlucky as we clearly have. This isn't taking into account Brady been injured at times, Dawson and others to throughout the season.
Losing Chester is the killer blow for us I think. I wonder if relegation will mean the owners will drop the name change stuff, can but hope.
In retrospect, losing Snodgrass to an injury that put him out for the entire season in only our first game seems portentous. It has been the story of our campaign. I might occasionally question Bruce's tactics but he can't be blamed for our catastrophic injury list. Neither do I think you can blame Bruce for the collapse of Davies' form - I think he needs to be dropped, he's become a liability. Meanwhile, seeing Maguire lumbering around in a forward role against West Ham showed just how desperate our situation is. I'm still hopeful we won't get relegated but I'm preparing myself psychologically, just in case.
we are def going down unfortunately snodgrass is forgotten, that summed up the season.. less than 30 minutes to lose a new signing for the season
No we won't go down . ( IMO ) BUT if we do, we do. I think the huge majority on here will still be going what ever league We are in. Especially when the FA boot the name change into touch.
Why is that important to you? Do you find it impossible to believe someone can hold an opinion that we will be relegated without doubting their loyalty?
lol, here comes mr **** i think we are ****ing dire and will go down i'll still support this team whatever division, you think you're some incredible supporter, get over yourself
I think that if we were going to sack Steve Bruce (which i am not advocating) then it should have been done 3-4 weeks ago. Now we have to run with what we have got. Yes we have been crippled by injuries so far this season and only on a few occasions been able to put out our strongest first eleven, but i still believe that the players that have played have under performed. I have criticised some of Bruce's team selections, tactics etc this season, but feel that his hand has been forced on a number of occasions due to the injury situation and that with a fully fit squad half of the players currently in the team would be on the subs bench at best. I honestly don't think Bruce can take a lot of the blame for this. The sooner we appoint an Assistant Manager the better, fresh ideas and enthusiasm around the place. We need to believe that if we can get some of the injured players back soon that we can turn this around. It's not like we are cut adrift at the bottom, 1 point from safety that's all we are. But if it's relegation it's relegation, we move on and go again. Because which ever division we are in it's still our football club. For me, i think that we can still get out of this and be playing Premier League football again next season.
