We have a glorious chance next weekend at home to Everton to put some daylight between the drop zone, we really need to win this fixture now that JA is back, otherwise we could well be right back in the brown stuff after the following two fixtures against Citeh and Chelsea............
We had an excellent chance to put daylight and breathing space against WBA and we were useless. Everton are a better team than us and will be favorites. We need to improve greatly but we have been saying that for 2 months and it has not happened...Wake up Carlos..
Good article about the Shysters and the puffin sell-outs. Apologies if posted already but worth a read. https://www.ft.com/content/d28b725e-3796-11e8-8eee-e06bde01c544
Kaplan won't reveal his endgame, but people close to him say the goal is to double or even triple his investment by building the clubs business and to sell it at a later stage. He does say that if we did nothing but stay in the Premier League and didn't do any of the other pieces [to boost the club commercially], the value of Swansea City would go up because the worldwide rights to Premier League football, which is split equally among the 20 teams, is going to grow at a very substantial compound growth rate over the next 20 years. . Kaplan, however, has much bigger ambitions for Swansea. He wants to get global sponsors, expand the stadium, upgrade training facilities, sign top international players and attract fans worldwide. This is why over the course of the season, he, along with shareholders, directors, executives and coaches at Swansea, agreed to speak to the FT about their hopes and plans. They gave me unprecedented insight into the modern running of a Premier League club -- how rich Americans, the latest big-money foreigners to buy entry into the Premier League, are trying to turn a small-town club into a global operation. . . . Google ' How to survive in the Premier League ' great read indeed................
I'm sure a rich sugar daddy, had one been available, would have ploughed £millions into the club but would they have been an Ashley or an Abramovich; an Al Fahim or a Mansour; a Glazer or Petty? But I don't believe they are sucking the life out of the club for personal gain. Maybe in the future (100% certain) they will take out what they consider a fair profit or leave with an acceptable loss. They have been naive about the PL and slow in realising how special Swansea City was / is. But, these are very successful business people and they way they make money is by being successful - if they are successful Swansea City will be successful. I'm prepared to go with them, cautiously. I am more concerned that when we leave the EU the rules on overseas players will mean clubs like Swansea (low income, low crowds) will not be able to afford the foreign players (who can be brought in from 3rd countries if they have international status) or the bang average British players who will become even more expensive as fewer will be available. .
When I posted that FT link it showed the full story, none of that paying for it rubbish. Here`s another link that works for me. At the moment anyway. http://www.paywallnews.com/business/How-to-survive-in-the-Premier-League.r1kJrbLsM.html
I`m using Mint & Peppermint at the moment. My old 32bit laptop is starting to creak under the strain a bit, it`s about ten years old so I will probably try Linux Lite when the new version comes out in about a month or so. Not so much pressure on the old thing. My newer 64bit laptop runs superb with all that`s thrown at it.
Love the way the Americans including pearlman are running the club. It is the right way the proper way for a club like ours,,,,,Staying within our means is paramount....well done keep it going....
Stunning finish by Grealish top draw volley from the edge of the box. All Cardiff could do was kick Grealish all game.
