Our 27th game last season was home to Burnley.

Our 27th game this season is home to ........ Burnley

Let's hope for 27 games played, 27 points - same as last year.....

Pretty sure around a month ago we would’ve been at around 95% chance. Crazy how quickly things turn :1980_boogie_down:

Most bookies have us as 5th favourites to go down now.
    Climbing steadily.

Last season 2 of the 3 teams relegated played in vertical stripes - Hull and Sunderland,
Could be all 3 this season.

In fact - none of the top 9 teams play in stripes, whereas 5 of the bottom 6 do. Coincidence ?

Last season, the three relegated teams were all coastal cities on the north-east coast of England. So this season, the three relegated teams will be Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth from the south coast of England. How to lie with statistics <laugh>

    Hull City fan in peace.......
The turnaround under Carvahal has been something to behold....and his interviews are comedy gold.
Will be great to see Stoke and West Brom go down, and I think Southampton will join them simply because they can't score.
Keep faith in Clucas, he is a hard working young "old fashioned pro".
All the best for your run in.

A lot of talk about this season's relegation battle being closer than last ...
    I'm not convinced

Yes, what a great win for the youngsters against top of the table Leicester.

I have mixed feelings about this cup game coming up, good for squad involvement and game time, but it’s getting in the way of our survival fight.
We should be playing Southampton on Sat, but unfortunately we will now be playing them at a later date, with a new manager in place and a possible resurgence in form. With no league game for three weeks and then ManU away, we could be in danger of slipping back into the relegation places.
Also it’s a dilemma in what side to pick for Spurs, do we stick with the squad players who got us this far or play the first team en bloc.
Answering my own question, with King and AAyew cup tied, JAyew suspended, Fer, Bony, and Britton injured, we’re down to pretty much the bare bones anyway!

Regarding the Huddersfield match, it was ruined as a contest with the early sending off, with Jon Moss as 4th official (born with a Yorkshire pudding in his mouth, and historically biased against us) advising Oliver, there was only one outcome, even though he had a good view of Hogg also diving in studs up. Ten against ten would have seen a different game.
With both sides desperate for points, eleven against ten gave us no option but to play to our strengths, and close the game down. We rode our luck at times but the outcome was positive for us, shared points and stopping Huddersfield from pulling away from us with a win.

We don't do breaks very well - play the first choice side that is likely to play against Man United and West Brom - the more time these players can get together the better.
