Not a bad result for us but would have preferred another nail in Stoke's coffin. This keeps WHU in the mix with some very losable games to come.
Said exactly the same thing many times over the last 12 months. It was Leon that saved us last season and not Clement.
Agree. It keeps WHU in the mix and it shatters a little more of Stokes hope. That will have been a huge killer blow for them tonight.
I think we will get another 5 points for the season = 38pts; 1W 2D 2L, not prepared to put points to games. That would put us out of reach of WBA. Stoke would have to win all 4 remaining games due to inferior goal difference and that's extremely unlikely. That leaves Southampton who would have to get 10 points from 5 games which is do-able but a tough ask. It also doesn't take into account what Palace, Huddersfield, west Ham and Brighton will do. One or more could have a disastrous end to the season. Therefore, I think we will be safe but not by much.
Our goals against could take a dip and we are only just ahead of Soton. They, Stoke and Palace have decent runs in but if their form continues won't get many points. Huddersfield could well drop out with their final 4 games as others overtake them. Not beating WBA was a real wasted opportunity. Chelsea Everton Man City Arsenal
That's Huddersfield run in? Hells bells We'll pick up 7 point imo. 2 wins at home and a draw v Bournemouth.
One point in the next 2 games will more than likely do it if the saints lose. but we must not concede a lot of goals or that could hinder us.....
I agree the WBA was a wasted opportunity, but the Everton result hurt us with the amount of chances we had.
Our home games under Clement did the real damage, We have been good to average since he left with a couple of bad games under Carlos...We should at least be on 46 points by now and safe....
