Beale spent 3 years at Glasgow Rangers, it’s what his reputation was built on. I don’t recall you being outraged that QPR recruited someone who clearly wasn’t bothered by what you think is the nature of the club and/or fan base. So why are you so upset that he might be going back? Feeling (potentially) jilted? If I were Beale and had enjoyed that first stint at Rangers I would think about it very seriously. No matter what the quality of the league is. European football, something QPR has had only twice, and not since the 80s, is guaranteed every season, and as he knows, it is a short step from Rangers to the PL - he’s done it as a Number 2 already. For the record I’ve seen hardcore Rangers fans up close and it was very ugly indeed. I’m sure I’d be equally appalled by their Celtic counterparts, just like I am with the vile stuff being posted by so called QPR fans directed at Beale on other fan sites.
Firstly, I don't voice my opinion on every subject on this message board Stan. In fact, in the past few years I have rarely voiced my opinion on any subject. Secondly, I don't judge people on where they come from or where they have worked previously. Everybody deserves a fair chance and should not be pre-judged. We have had players from Rangers before and I cheered them on just like any other QPR player. The same with the current manager. If Beale wants to go back and work for Rangers, that is his choice. Both Glasgow clubs have a culture of sectarianism against the other. In the case of Rangers, people from my religion were discriminated against for 70 years. I reserve the right to express my disgust that they had a sectarian recruitment policy in place for so long and continued to play in European competitions. UEFA should have kicked them out of their competitions at least in the 60's and 70's when it was obvious they had not employed a catholic for so many decades. I have seen other posters on here criticise Celtic. Especially around the time the Queen passed away and their fans were behaving in a particularly obnoxious way. I said nothing as I agreed with the criticism. When a poster comes on and does the same about Rangers, people are shocked. If one of our Manager's went to work for Celtic, I would understand that that might upset some of our fans, When it comes to the Old Firm, there is no middle ground. They are both as bad as each other as Steelesy pointed out earlier. He should know, he lives in the West of Scotland. which is just as bad as N.I. for sectarianism. I have voiced my opinion on this subject so I will crawl back under the stone I came out of. End of thread for me. I will not be answering any more posts on the subject.
Why on earth would anyone turn down a premier job then go to Scotland. Interesting if he turns them down or whether he’s not fussed about integrity anymore.
I have it from a good authority that Beale has left us for Glasgow Rangers and taken his whole backroom staff with him.
Yes that is the key point. If he does decide to leave us now after saying that a month ago, it will be difficult for many to trust a word he says in the future. But then as he has contradicted himself before, I take what he says with a pinch of salt anyway. If he stays fine, but I'm not too bothered if he goes, he's not been doing that well.
I think he's been doing well so much as a lack of resources. The future looks grim though Os, let's hope Les make's the right appointment.
What including Chris Ramsey, Paul Hall, Neill Banfield ...who have been here forever ....and are longterm club appointees That I really don't believe
I’ll wait till the official update to clearly voice my opinion……. ( can someone please pass the fire extinguisher for safe keeping )
Found a conversation on twitter with David Mac of WLS. He thinks Beake will leave. He was asked what's changed between Wolves approach and now at QPR, Dave Mac says nothing at all. It's all about Beales connection to Glasgow Rangers. The club are not pleased...but as SLF has said before, it is impossible to stand in his way..( yes they can refuse permission, but the resentment it would cause and the disruption to the team would be not worth it) and there is a large compensation clause involved
The tension is mounting. Fans are starting to get peeved and rightly so. Comment as posted…… Tom wrote: “As a massive fan of QPR & Celtic I’m delighted that Micheal Beale is joining that lot. Lost half his games. 24th in form table. Zero integrity. Zero class. Rangers are a mess. 9 pts behind. No money & team largely out of contract. Career suicide but his ego is too big to see that” https://champions67.com/2022/11/27/...ning-opinion-on-incoming-ibrox-manager/?amp=1
OK, looks like he's on his way. We can writhe and rant but that's just so much hot air. I want to know if that means we lose our Villa connection and Tim back off to Brum or elsewhere. I suppose it does mean that. As for Beale, he's done what he thinks is right for his career and his pocket. Which of us has not done that over the years? 'It's business, not personal', though it always feels just that!
Tom is just bitter. Sure, Beale's form in the last 5 games isn't good, but he has got QPR outside the play off positions on goal difference having spent no money and QPR were tipped by many to be relegated this season. I doubt any QPR fan is "delighted" that he is leaving, Celtic fans always like to think they are accountants wgen it comes to Rangers finances and as for Beale and his ego, he has never struck me as somebody who has a big ego, is that what people down south acrually think he has a big ego or is it just Tom that thinks that?
If we're honest, Rangers are a better prospect, more chance of winning something, European football, more money. It is still a Mickey mouse 2 horse league though. If he'd always wanted to return, then he was going to accept any offer and he might think he'd not get the chance again. Just unfortunate that the chace has come now. Maybe he should have kept his trap shut last month though, as it now makes him look a bit daft, amongst other things. I'd rather he goes now, the endless speculation can only be negative for the team. What chance have we got though? Finally get someone who looks decent and he buggers off less than halfway through the season. Might as well give Steve Bruce a call.
I think a lot of people down south possibly underestimate the size of Rangers, in the UK, in terms of size, history, stature, fanbase etc, it is arguably only Man U and Liverpool that are bigger than the Old Firm. About 6 weeks ago just about every Rangers fan was wanting Beale back but in the last week or so, I know of very few who want him back as they, like me think he is too big of a gamble. some of our fans are pointing to him not having won in the last 5 games, which is a ****ing ridiculous reason for not wanting him, as he has done a great job for QPR with all things considered. The thing that doesn't sit well with me is what you touched on and him saying that he "can't be the first to leave the ship" and now he is doing it. I honestly don't think he would have left for any old club, which I suppose the Wolves thing proved and let's face it, if it was only for money then he would have taken the Wolves job as they could afford to pay him a lot more than Rangers could.
I just wish he'd f*ck off PDQ, nothing to thank him for as he's basically sabotaged our season after promising loyalty. We need a credible replacement ASAP. My fear is they'll be in for Willock and Chair in January, if so we need to price them out of it...
