good post watford_r
you've certainly got a better chance of staying up today than you had yesterday

you've certainly got a better chance of staying up today than you had yesterday

Unfortunately the previous board gave Warnock virtually zero funds and, knowing they were going to sell at some point, didn't allow Warnock to go after the likes of Morison and Graham when he wanted to, leaving us to pick up free transfers that were never very likely to work. Patrick Agyemang was starting up front for a couple of games, as an example, and Danny ****tu was re-signed and then didn't make the 25 purely because Warnock had no idea who he could get in and had to grab whatever players he could. What it means is we have a heap of players who aren't of the necessary calibre and the squad needs major improvements. We aren't in a position to take a chance on young players right now imo, as much as that would be the preferable move if we were comfortably mid-table, and have to look to secure our place in the league in the short-term. I think the signings we've made are sound for achieving our short-term aim and, given there are so many players who have been long forgotten by us but still on the wage bill due to the previous regime's penchant for putting Championship quality players on long, lucrative deals out of contract this summer it will free up some funds in the future.
I agree with you that it looks like a Pompey waiting to happen but I think, given the disadvantage we had during the summer, it's the best way to go.

An excellent post, very well put! How nice to have a visitor that knows how to behave when visiting! Very good luck for the future Watford_R!![]()
? So you have this great insight into our owners and their business? Think not and if you did you would see how well respected and dedicated they are.you are being taken for a ride which may well end up being one almighty car crash.

have read some of your comments and cannot see how someone can say that ? So you have this great insight into our owners and their business? Think not and if you did you would see how well respected and dedicated they are.
Norwich staying up
Agree i was one who thought Norwich would struggle and i have been proven wrong but then i said Blackpool would stay up and they dropped like a stone second half of the season, we will just have to see.
Has beens? I think any of those has beens would walk into you team. Sadly i think that is a nasty dig because some clubs couldn't get in any quality.
As for us i don't know what the season holds but i am sure we are in the right hands and want to spend a long time in the top flight and not just 1-2 seasons. As for our midfield being 'weak' i think with Barton/Buz/Derry and Taraabt we shall be ok.

10 games? i thought the last 5-6 would be hard but 10?Well if you fancy a quck profit you can get 18/1 on Norwich getting relegated compared to QPR at 5/2.To be honest QPR have such a horrendous last ten games that unless you get ten points from your next 6 games then I think it may be curtains for you.Barton? What are you on?

Might have a £1 bet at 18/1 and if i win i can buy the famous Delia's 'dodgy teeth' Christmas cooking book!

I'm just waiting to see which one out of Zamora, Cisse and Onuha gets his lights punched out first by Joey Barton, and accident waiting to happen that lot
munky, bennett was even captain of grimsby at 19!![]()
So you were wrong on both accounts, tell me, what were you actually right about? So far it doesn't appear that your opinion isn't worth a great deal

Realistically though, how many people buy football clubs to make money, and are successful on the pitch too? Most teams are bought as follies by wealthy business-people, etc. Bates might just about break even at Leeds, but at the expense of the playing squad, and the support of the fans. The Glazers, Fernandes, etc, etc, will never make a profit, but they don't exactly need to.
Well i was right when i said that we would be champions last season and that we were the best team. I was right that we would not be deducted 15 points.
But the thing that i am most proud of is that i was right when i said i thought your fans looked like a load of inbreds and wasn't dissapointed when i saw them.![]()
