That, surely, has put to bed the question of whether we've made progress under JS.
We need a proper JS chant for next season.
As a rule I'm not in favour of knee jerk reactions one way or the other. Yesterday I saw a pleasing willingness to adapt tactics and we are definitely a better team when Kolli and Vale in particular do what they are picked to do. Smyth has been the most consistent performer over the last two years and, frankly should be starting more often. The real test whether we've made progress under Stephan will come next season because we've run out of cannon fodder to play this season.

The football may have been more exciting but we can't say we've made any real progress until we manage to put away relegation teams instead of rolling over for them, we don't go on losing streaks for anything between 4-8 games at a time and we don't go through long spells without being able to score or even muster shots on the opposition goal. We are only on 56 points at the moment having conceded 62 goals and the end of the season is still six games away

Sort those things and I will gladly say job well done.

I agree about the losing streak. Not having one of those would be a significant step forwards.

Reactions: daverangers
Five teams have had longer losing runs than our max so far of four. Three others also on four.

According to this anyway, very few teams better or match our four games without a win.

JS must not be a fan of Smyth’s. Seems reluctant to start him unless he has to. Can’t understand it myself. The guy brings honesty and intensity with more likely to happen when he plays.
